Stayed one night for a clay pigeon shooting event. Welcome great, rooms very different but great (wet room bathroom, under floor heating unique), food & service good. The whole stay was relaxing & enjoyable-exactly as the title says

Expensive country pub , but then again why not treat yourself to a 5 star once in a while. Lovely roast just about enough , good quality and the cheesecake for dessert was lovely. One of the best local pubs to go to.

Stopped off on the outskirts of Bath with a view to exploring Castle Combe the next day. This place looked good on paper and despite being close to the M4 motorway, between junctions 17 and 18, there was no discernible noise nor lots of through traffic. The accommodation was modern and up a few steps behind the original building, but... More

Booked on line through their web site and arrived to be told there was no booking - then they offered to ' try to squeeze us in'. Not the warmest of welcomes and our visit there did not live up to the glowing reports seen on web sites - and the reason we went in the first place. The food... More

Charming Country Pub with roaring fire. Delicious food from varied & not over expensive menu. Pleasant lunch time ambience. Off road car parking. We'll be back soon. Ramp outside for wheelchair users (steep but do-able)

Had a great evening with friends but service let you down. On arriving we were pointed to a table and told that a drinks order would be taken. After 10 minutes of waiting we approached the bar to request an order to be taken. After that the service was friendly but intermittent. Fish pie not on menu as Bouillabaisse style... More

We had purchased a Travelzoo voucher which was a two course lunch for 2 with a glass of wine for £29. The food was excellent and very large portions. It was a Monday so quiet but lovely ambience and very friendly. Will be returning as even if paying the full price we felt it would be excellent value.

Went here for a meal with a group. We found the service poor, it was unprofessional, slow, and really as if they just could not care. The bar needs to tidy up their act too, you just cannot and should not, serve a particular brand of beer or ale in another type of branded glass. On saying that the food... More

Beautiful setting only 25 minutes from Bath. Lovely cosy rooms, delicious breakfast with a great choice. Staff were really lovely too. We ate in the pub both nights, every time we all had delicious meals.
