Penticton was our halfway stop from Revelstoke to Vancouver, so we stayed here for one night. It's a nice enough view on the lake, with a campsite that has potential, but nothing really memorable. We were in spot 7, which is right by the water. It's however a sloped spot, so far from ideal for an RV. There's a shower building right across from this spot, but the shower was quite terrible. The weather was awful at the time, so that of course also influenced our opinion of this place, unfortunately. Sanidump is free, so that's at the very least a bonus. This is by far not the worst place you could end up at, but I'm not going to recommend it either.

Decided to try this place out, as we have passed it on the road in to Penticton before. Tried to book online, got a email advising to send CC details on two emails? Not a great method.....with secure pay being so easy to do, or PayPal... Brought our Truck camper in to the park, not a boundary between sites, (they are unbelievably small also) Just rough dirt/ little grass patch. our truck was against the bank and the bumper hung out into the traffic (back in spots) "Fire pit" was a collection of stones at the waters edge about 80ft away, between the two tree's. Girl in the office offered some other sites in the same small area, but for $30 a night (we had already paid), we still bailed and went to Wrights Campsite ($35) at the far end of the lake, at least it has gravel pads, clearly defined areas, PWS, and strong WIFI. Really disappointed in the place, expected better. Banbury shows the typical signs of quantity vs quality type of place.

This has been our best camp site yet. We have a trailer and they had all the hook-ups. Nicely spread out with plenty of waterfront. Boathouse with rentals, volleyball court, horse shoes, internet by the office, rollerblading and biking along the KVR trail which runs beside the lake south to OK Falls and north to Penticton. No noisy trains on this line. Lots of tent sites right on the beach. The turn off from the HWY is very sharp. Heading south take it slow. Heading north with a trailer you will have to pass the entrance. There is a turn around 1000 feet down the HWY. Best to do that. We've booked our spot for next year!

The site was left unclean, For the price they charge I would expect site maintenance, and there is none. I was disappointed with the rudeness of the managers. Unkind, entitled, and short tempered. I had tried to cancel a couple of nights at the end of my stay, and they refused to cancel them and charged me for 2 nights that I was not there. It is nice to be on the lake, but aside from that, I was unimpressed by the resort.

Response from Banburygreen, General Manager at Banbury Green RV & Camping Resort

I am sorry if this person feels slighted by any interactions with staff and/or management. As far as the site being unclean - we do our best to make sure that sites are clean between customers and if there is a problem with the site we would expect to be notified asap so we could remedy any issues. Had we been told of any issues we would have addressed them straight away. Unfortunately this is the first time I have heard of any problems this person had with the site. We cannot address problems if nothing is said, so it is wrong to accuse of having no site maintenance when clearly that is not the case. With regards to being charged for leaving early; This person was camping in August in high season and clearly knew the policy on cancellations. She has stayed with us twice this year and had received the confirmation email which clearly states our cancellation policy. For clarification the cancellation policy is below: Cancellation policy is 14 days. All changes or cancellations made within 14 days of due booked arrival date will incur fee (including changes made while on site). From 8 – 14 days prior to scheduled booked date the fee is $50.00 and within 7 days of due arrival, all days booked must be paid for. Adele Dewar Manager

Our friends “glamp” here every year. They have a permanent booking and meet up with their other permanent booking friends each year. We join them once in a while but we don’t have an RV so we’d set up a tent. Spaces are small especially if you are parking a RV, but it is along the water so easy to swim, lounge on a floaty, head out fishing or other water sports like paddle boarding. There is hookup for water and electricity at your site and onsite laundry, showers, washrooms, Shaw wifi and small store. There is a volleyball net and apricot trees bearing fruit to eat. Space is compact so limited space on land.
