Thank you very much for everything. We had a great time at your place with your family. They cooked for us delicious meals, freshly caught fish, sweet homemade doughnuts(my favorite ones) and other specializes. We had a great walks along the beach and also Tupou took us to next village walk for waterfall swing, which was great experience as well. Thank you.
I spent a total of 9 days in Namatakula with Tupou, Rosa, Lido, Ezo and the whole family. They were so welcoming and made me feel completely at home, couldnt recommend them enough. The food was amazing and I could never finish the mountains put in front me... despite the encouragement! The village is beautiful and staying here you get a real different perspective on Fijian life. There are a few waves in the area that you don't need to get a boat too (15 min walk and a short paddle) and the Beachouse is close if you want to get out to Frigates or some of the better waves. Can't thank everyone enough for my time, definitely coming back! Tupou can be reached on +679 918 9752
My husband, 7 year old son & myself recently stayed at Namatakula Village & were warmly welcomed by Tupou, Isoa, Rosa, Naomi & their wide extended family into their home. We wanted to experience true authentic Fiji & we weren't disappointed. My son absolutely loved it as he played all day & all night with all the kids, waded through rivers to get to the beach, went to church, climbed trees, swam, had rain baths, ate mangoes & coconuts straight off the tree, drank kava & ate heaps of beautiful food. The best part was how safe we felt & how relaxed we were with these new found friends that treated our son just like their own. We were after some local souvenirs, so Isoa of fijitransfers.com & the girls kindly escorted us around Rugby town (Sigatoka) to get some supplies. We thoroughly loved it and would definitely recommend this Homestay to anyone who wants to feel a pure Fijian encounter in this kid friendly country.…
Very belated review here as I visited Danny's in 2015, but my visit was fantastic and I highly recommend it. Easy to access from the Queens Road bus, the friendliness and hospitality was wonderful. I was very fortunate in that there was a village wedding during my visit which I was welcomed to attend which was incredibly generous of the community. The food was excellent, the family are so kind and I loved my afternoons on the beach reading and watching the kids play, villagers fish and the sun set.
Travelled to Namatakula Village Homestay in Oct16 and had a memorable 5 day family experience. We were welcomed by Tupou and her family with friendly faces and treated like long lost relatives for the whole time. So much to do whilst there - walk to beach, memorable school visit, bus trip to markets, walk to farmlands to pick foods for dinner, kava, hike to waterfalls and swimming hole. The kids climbed palm trees, helped cook dinners, went fishing, braided hair, played rugby with the local kids after school and ate everything that hangs from a tree. The meals were generous and accommodation comfortable. If you want jetski's, day spa's, overpriced drinks and lagoon pools then this is not for you. But if you want to immerse yourself in culture, village life and hang with proud friendly locals then stay at the Village Homestay for the REAL experience you will never forget....…
