Yurt Camp Almaluu has all facilities necessary for the Camp - multiple toilets, washing facilities, showeres with hot water and even sauna. The yurts are equiped with two- three beds, electric light and two plugs for connection of electronic devices. The doors are wooden with locking possibility. The main yurt - the restaurant - is large enough to accommodate around 30 guests, the food was good and the service quick. Staff was very kind and helpful. Free wifi was good when it was working, but it was dropping out rather often. The lake shore is not really near, so we drove there.
In general good location around one kilometer from the lake. Comfortable yurts. But no luxury yurts or bathrooms. Unfortunately no cozy and personally atmosphere and not very friendly stuff. Food was OK. Unfortunately we were thrown out of the hostel because it was booked, but we were not told before. In the end we were glad to be moved out because we ended up in much better accomodation.
what I liked: - the place is really beatiful, its well prepared, jurts are clean, comfortable, there is a lot of flowers, trees, sauna (but not working too good thought) - helpfull and friendly stuff (but its better to speak russian) - very quick and good comunication before coming there - great location, just next to beach - good food, but all the same thing each 2-3 days what i did not like: - they don't have in their offert what they are proposing in their brochure, for example: cooking clases - ignoring requeste. for example: they have provided transport from bishkek to jurt and we asked twice for a car with a seat bels (we were with a little kid), we did a car without. we asked 3 times for a taxi to get back, the day of arrival they were suprise that we need taxi now - we couldn't pay on a day of arrival. they charged us at the end of our stay, but it was not comfortable for us cause this way we didn't knew how much we will need to pay - lack of information: they were some family reunion, that made our day a nightmare! some guest knew about that, we didn't and we spend all day listening EXTREMLY LOUD MUSIC (family party after all) 3 meters from our jurt. Even after asking to make it a little bit less loud, they ignored it…
Slept well in a yurt: a comfy bed, a soft warm blanket, fresh air. So much enjoyed a hot shower in the garden! Tea and breakfast is included. We tried dinner on the first night and prefer eating on the Kadji-Sah beach nearby (three times cheaper and a lot more choices; locals would stop for you to give a ride if you are walking, it's about 2km. There is a beautiful canyon next to that beach as well.) It is nice to meet and socialise with other travelers over tea in the big yurt. The hosts are friendly young females who speak English.
We stayed @ Almaluu for a week from 17th till 24th of July. Fantastic stay: warm-hearted people, great yurts, tasty and simple food, untouched nature, clean beach and water. You won't be disturbed here by drunken tourists like on the Northern shore, the only things that will wake you up in the morning are the sounds of nature. Don't expect 5-stars hotel amenities here - it's a bit different type of relaxation here. Relaxation from civilization). NB! No proper WiFi, lake is 15 mins walk, the camp is 90kms from Balykchi and 140km from Tamchi airport
