Went through Trivago searched for pet friendly Trivago showed no rooms available in Whitehorse but this lodge Kaleido Lodge Yukon.. I checked the search for pet friendly. We drive from Fairbanks Ak so we have been driving for 14 hours to get there. When I searched I figured since I clicked PET Friendly they would know we had a pet .. So when we get there , there are 3 doors two of which are locked . So I go into the only door open for entry. It is a hall way .. No office ?? I holler down the corridor sevral times no one shows up. I set outside for 15 minutes I go back in holler again HELLO no one ever shows up I set outside again I am starting wonder just what it is that is going on ?? I go back in there is a little tiny table setting there maybe 24 inches diameter .. It has a folded piece of paper on it with my first name on it.. Says hello go to room such an such go to the room I am like ok guess this is how they operate ??? So get the wife and a few things and our pet. We go in we had not been there but a maybe 15 minutes there is a knock on the door .. She says you can not have pets you have to leave ?? I am like WHAT THE #$%^& so I get our things and our pet and we leave . When we get outside I ask for our money back they say no.. I am really tired.. So I said no sense in beating the crap out of these supposedly humans or beating them to death.. So we leave.. Then I get all these threatening emails blah blah.. Going to fine me for bringing my pet to their lodge.. It is like you worthelss pieces of crap when I did the search you should of known I had a pet you never show up tell after we go to the room then you come say get out.. Then want to fine me 200 canadian dollars for bringing my pet inside .. If you worthless pieces of crap would of showed yourself and actually had an office to check in at none of this would of ever happened I would not stay at this place ever screw this place ! ! ! ! !

We weren't sure as we drove down the funky little road off the highway. But it wasn't far, and the place was great! This little lodge is super clean, nicely laid out, and very comfortable. Our room was quite large and had a very large bathroom. There was every extra thing you might need, including a standing fan, an extra heater, extra blankets, and even guest Croc slippers to wear indoors (no shoes past the entry.) Our room had two twin beds, which we pushed together (very common in European countries). The included breakfast was amazing! Freshly made at our preferred time, it was big, tasty, and served in an appealing presentation. We can't say enough good about this place! If we ever drive the Alcan again, we will time it so we can stay there again!

Excellent place to stay! It is a clean facility, cozy, and comfortable. I wish I would have selected to opt-in for breakfast and dinner service. It would have been nice to "dine-in" rather than drive back to Whitehorse for meals. We will be back!

Stayed in the Aurora Suite. Website says “continental-style, complimentary breakfast offered” but told $15 when arrived. Only saw the hosts on first day, and though friendly their English wasn’t great and communication was difficult. Suite very clean, large, but minimalistic. Suite was very cold & thermostat had “do not touch” sign on. Used provided heaters to get room to temperature. Suite was missing luggage racks, coat hooks, dish clothes, face towel, paper towels, oven mitts, toaster, ice cube tray & bottle/wine opener. Hot water was an issue, shower water came out in a dribble and used kettle to heat water for sink. Wifi kept kicking us out. Advertised owners beautiful photographs in little ad on table but walls were bare. Could use owners photos to beautify the place. Could use more comfortable seating as 2-seater futon wasn’t great and means anyone staying with more than 2 guests must sit on wooden kitchen table chair. No coffee table. No tv. Bed very comfortable. Location makes up for everything. Beautiful location, beautiful view. Easy to find, but must have a car. Deck is great, but could use lounging furniture and patio heater. The hot tub was removed for the season, which was disappointing because hot tub on cold nights viewing the northern lights would be ideal. Teepee’s are awesome, but we were not invited to the fire the other guests had inside them (possibly a private function). Amazing view of northern lights. Absolutely worth putting up with other shortcomings. And I would stay here again.
