Have you ever been so upset about the hotel you booked that you actually couldn’t sleep? Absolutely blown away by how depressingly awful this place is, but hey, at least it’s only $325 a night and walking distance to nothing! We made the mistake of assuming that finding a hotel in Whitehorse on a Monday night in October would be fairly simple. We were mistaken. Everything was booked except for this turnip. Book 👏 in 👏 advance 👏
Well, I slept amazing here. After traveling from Montgomery, AL to Whitehorse I was exhausted. It was the last day before I would reach Alaska and wanted to get a good night's rest to finish it out. I arrived here late and there was another couple checking in. Listening to the shpeal of the things that were required I was just surprised. I am not sure what type of people stay here but they must deal with some serious drama. $150 refundable deposit, noise complaints have you removed without warnings, no smoking or $500, and so on. I was tired and just wanted to sleep so I said, "yep, yep, and yep." Signed on the lines and go to my room. The room was simple. It had what you would expect to have there. I didn't care about it, as long as there was a comfy bed. Showered and was tanked. I think it was 12:30 and woke up to housekeepers trying to wake me at check-out time. It was 10:00 but the time then was 10:33. Rested well. Overall, minus the drama ridden check-in process, the place is clean, comfy, and check-out was just as seamless. …
This place was rundown, dreary inside, smelled bad on the main floor, dirty windows on the main floor, slow drains. Over priced for sure. Our reservation was mixed up. The restaurant was in the same condition as the hotel. Staff were friendly.
No sign out front (gps told us we were there) . Trash in the parking lot. Bad part of town. Panhandling out front Paint peeling on building. . No breakfast included, but the highest price we paid from Florida to Alaska. Shower handle had no place to hang it up. Sprayed all over. The young man who checked us in was very nice and so was the young lady in the morning. No coffee available in the lobby. The bed was clean and comfortable. That’s the only good part. I will NOT stay here again. $154 us currency plus $150 deposit! The morning young lady gave us $20 off.
Very run down VERY poor conditions. Overpriced, no parking for truck with small u-haul trailer. Sketchy people and very overpriced for terrible condition of hotel. We stayed in King executive suite and it was so gross, we didn’t even shower.Smells awful too.
One night stay going through onto Kelowna and then Vernon BC. First trip through Whitehorse, absolutely beautiful country. I hope to stay lo ger next trip. Thank you for your hospitality. I hope to see more of the gorgeous views.
Unfortunately we were greatly disappointed with our stay. Our room was not cleaned properly (e.g. the toilet bowl was stained brown, there was a baby pacifier under the bed, parts of the kitchen cabinetry was cracked, and the coffee dispenser had a layer of an oil-like substance when filled with water). I have pictures if needed. Upon checking in, the computer system was apparently "frozen" - it took the concierge 15 mins just to give us our room cards. I also called earlier in the morning to see if we could do early check-in, and the lady said we could check in at 2:30pm. When we arrived early, the lady said we could only check in at 3pm. So frustrating. Additionally, the elevator buttons were not sanitized and the landline phone in the room would not connect to the front desk after several tries!…
There were issues particularly with bathroom and lack of interest from the staff. Ricky's that was attached to the hotel was exceptional. The food was good and the staff was wonderful. I would recommend it anytime.
If you enjoy sleeping on uncomfortable beds with equally uncomfortable pillows and enjoy the smell of smoke stained carpets then this is definitely your dream stay! Hallways and the entryway would also apease those who enjoy a spot of dust-bunny safari. When you develop a thirst, the communal ice machine dispenses cryogenically frozen micro-organisms sure to give your beverage of choice a unique spin! Thirst quenched!
The overall state of this hotel is not good. It looks like a rundown days inn connected to a shady restaurant. Good luck finding the entrance as nothing is labeled. Smells like stale food and weed with moldy bathrooms.
