As always a great place to stay, this time in the Cyr. Plenty of breakfast available. Bernie makes a great host and always interesting to chat with. Missed Pam this trip as she was rocking and rolling.

Pam & Bernie run a very pleasantly relaxed place in a central location, with a well planted garden with a nice area to sit out in. There are two smallish bedrooms on the first floor, with their own bathrooms on the ground floor and use of a kitchen and sitting room; and the Cyr Suite in the basement, which is... More

This was a nice place to stay, but it shouldn't be called a B&B. A B&B has breakfast which is typically made for you, while they do provide cereal, milk and toast, it is more of a hostel than B&B. You are on your own at breakfast and there is no fruit or anything. The room was fine, but there... More

The B&B was centrally located and had parking which was great. The owners seemed very nice. We stayed in the Cyr suite, in the basement, which we found to be damp. I believe the owners of the B&B smoke as I found that the towels had the faint odour of cigarette smoke on them which was not pleasant. For my... More

Enjoyed my night there. It is an old house of course but it has everything you need plus a full shared kitchen (you only have one other guest to share with). There is a very nice garden with a table to sit at out side and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.

My wife and I stayed in the basement suite. Very large area, good for a group of 4. The owner was very nice and accommodating. The place was very clean. I would call it a bed but drop the breakfast because all they provide are boxes of cereal and milk. Very close to everything, walking distance,.

Thank you so much Bernie! My wife and I had an amazing time here. We stayed in two different rooms - the basement suite and an upstairs room and both were great. Private bathrooms, lots of breakfast food, kitchens to use, very clean, super historic, a lovely garden in the back, a great location.. I could go on! But most... More

We stayed at the Historic Guest House for 3 nights while visiting my son in Whitehorse. We had the fully contained basement suite, and appreciated the space and full amenities. The suite was spacious and clean, and we felt very much at home. The weather was beautiful and we were able to enjoy the beautiful private back yard gardens and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Historical Guest House is located in downtown Whitehorse close to all of the amenities the town has to offer. The 2 story log house was built in 1907 by Mike and Tony Cyr for the "real" Sam McGee. All of it's historical charm is intact. Historical Guest House is for the independent and reasonably self-sufficient traveller who likes all the amenities and comforts of home when travelling. We welcome you as a guest and a friend. We want you to feel comfortable and at home. Food is provided for a self-serve continental breakfast - a variety of hot and cold cereals, whole wheat bread for toast, a variety of jams and peanut butter, tea and coffee. Let us know if you have special dietary needs. It is called self-serve because guests are free to eat breakfast on their own schedule. Since the kitchen is communal it is also available for cooking at any time of the day. We want you to feel comfortable going into the fridge and the cupboards to find what you need. There is room in the house and in the garden under the gazebo for socializing, as well as privacy. We live in the green log house right next door. ... more   less
