My girlfriend and I are avid travelers but like many others, COVID has sidelined us for over two years. We were so excited to be back traveling and chose the beautiful Quebec City to start again. We have never stayed at Hotel 71 but after this recent visit, there is no other hotel that we will stay in when we visit. The location and beauty of the hotel would be enough but what made this trip so much more special was the staff. Everyone there treated us with much kindness and made us feel very welcome but one particular individual really made this weekend stay absolutely incredible for us....JIMMY!!! Jimmy and his smile was immediately disarming, very welcoming, friendly and charming to a fault! Among the many ways he made our trip better, he helped get us a last minute reservation at an incredibly beautiful and romantic restaurant and he did it like he was on a mission! On a busy Saturday night he got us into Saint-Amour (which I highly recommend) and made our romantic weekend even more incredibly special. We will never forget the amazing stay in the incredibly romantic Quebec City and at the second to none Hotel 71. Thank you Jimmy!!!! --- Rick & Ana

We visited IL MATTO Restaurant on the 17th June on the recommendation of a tour guide . As we were staying in Hotel 71 we discovered the Italian restaurant was attached to the hotel which was very convenient in the rain. On entering the restaurant sadly it was booked out but the waiter kindly squeezed us in . I have to say it was the best pasta I have tasted in years and the pizza was amazing . Thanks to the waiter Jeremy for his great service and his efficiency and fun personality. We feel blessed to have been able to eat at this Italian restaurant and after travelling from Ireland it was great to be transported back across the Atlantic to Italy whilst experiencing the Canadian hospitality . Would definitely recommend .

Outstanding, well located hotel in every way….checkin and checkout was seamless and welcoming…..staff were friendly, accommodating and so helpful with suggestions! Our room was huge and the beds were so comfy. Love love the self serve wine and coffee bars in the lobby and the numerous cozy areas and comfortable seating and candlelit ambience in the lobby. Our trip was made especially perfect by JIMMY at the front desk who always had a huge smile, lots of great suggestions and laughter for us! Highly recommend this hotel!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel that is ideally located in the heart of lower Quebec. They have thought of so many details that we really appreciated- especially the self dispensary wine. Staff are so friendly and genuinely want to help you. Jimmy at the desk was incredibly helpful, informative and funny! We will return here the next time we visit.

Dear all, We highly appreciated our stay with Hotel 71! It was amazing! The location is in the heart of the old Quebec city - walking distance to all the sightseeing. We are grateful for the early check in, our room was ready earlier and we could enjoy our stay even a little bit longer. The room was bigger than expected, everything is well equipped, the bed is super comfy, the blackout curtains let us enjoying it in the morning as long as we wanted. Everything is super clean, we had everything all we needed. L'occitane cosmetics was a nice surprise, we loved it. The terrace with a view deserves a separate comment - the view is breathtaking! All the staff is very friendly, thank you! We will highly recommend Hotel 71 Quebec to everyone who travels to Quebec and would come back ourselves the next time. Kind regards, Liuba & Steve

We arrived for our first-ever visit o Quebec City on a rainy, misty night in October. The cab took us into the streets of the magical old city, and we struggled for a minute in the cold to find the entrance. Once we did, we entered into a warm, cozy lobby with a friendly living-room vibe. People having wine on couches, having freshly come in from the cold. Marianne welcomed us as if in to her home, and remained a friendly face throughout the course of our visit. Our room was a loft, and when we walked in the door the view of the "castle" took our breath away. We spent the first five minutes taking pictures from the window. The room itself was spacious and reminded me of a modern European apartment. Plenty of closet space and a large entry that serviced as a "mudroom" for our wet clothes. The bathroom was also very modern with a shower with great water pressure (no bathtub). There is a self service bar in the lobby (charges your room key) that was handy when you wanted a nightcap but didn't feel like dealing with bar staff. A great restaurant in the lobby, as well as a coffee station. Friendly doormen gave us directions, etc before we set off in the morning. Coming home and relaxing in the room with the beautiful view made us feel as we were enjoying the city from the comfort of our hotel room. While in the old city, it is in the flat part beneath the hill where the castle and most of the tourist attractions are. Meaning there is a climb to get to anything not on the waterfront. We didn't mind. Overall a strong recommendation.

Well located hotel in the old town of Quebec, within easy walking distance of the train station and centre of town. The hotel has well sized rooms, with a plenty of character and lounge space to relax downstairs. The only downside is the lack of breakfast - they can provide chill bags for breakfast in your room at 15 CAD, which are fine or you can walk round the corner to some neighbouring cafes. There isn’t a bar in the hotel, but a self-service wine and spirit dispenser that charges back to your room and free hot drinks, which is very pleasant and nice feature to have
