Very interesting property. It has some of the feel of a youth hostel, while simultaneously having some of the feel of an upscale destination. The hotel is around the corner from plenty of food and shopping options but is in the midst of other properties that are for sale or under construction. On walking in, you have to climb a full flight of stairs to the lobby. The lobby is tastefully appointed but the front desk is understaffed. At first we were told our room wasn't ready yet and we would need to wait 3-4 hours, but then we were told a room was indeed all ready. We took the elevator up to a room right next to the elevator. The room was well appointed, with a comfortable bed, view of nothing in particular, and a heating system that only cooled - we unplugged that and the room was thankfully warm enough. The bathroom was well designed and fresh. The door to the room gave no noise protection, and apparently some people seem to think that talking loudly to their friends while waiting for the elevator won't annoy other guests. We were graciously allowed a late checkout so that we didn't have to just sit in the lobby while waiting for our departure time. So ultimately this was a combination of multiple good and bad points.

Arrived in Quebec City by train and it was only a 7 minute walk but... you need to be fit to push luggage up the large hill. Got to the hotel hot and bothered only to find a flight of steps up to reception , they badly need a lift. That said everything else was excellent, the lovely man on reception, the room where we were lucky enough to get a small balcony, so nice to lie on the bed and listen to the music in the bars . It didn t go on late so didn t disturb us but in any case you could just shut the door and if deadened any street noise. The swimming pool was good, not very deep but well maintained with a life guard on duty.

Stayed here in October 2022. There is lots to recommend about the hotel: it’s smart and clean with nice rooms. Two major gripes: (1) there are about 20 steps from the front door to reception, awkward for us with a baby pram (or anyone with a physical disability); (2) for some reason the bar attached to the hotel won’t allow you to have cocktails in your room (only beer or wine), and staff were rude in explaining that to us.

Hotel very handy for station ( be prepared for short steep hill) . On arrival our luggage was taken upstairs and checkin was swift. The bedroom was nice with comfy bed, good bathroom and opening windows (air conditioning seemed noisy) Although hotel has a long history it is in fact very modern which is a bit of a shame. Lovely pool which we didn’t have time to use. On our second day we were shocked to find that our room hadn’t been made up. When I phoned to complain I was told they don’t do this! No apology ....no offer of towels, toiletries or tea & coffee replenishments as was the case during Covid in the UK . When asked why they weren’t offering this service they said they were short staffed. I feel it was bad not to tell us beforehand. Some people like fresh towels each day. We’re not too bothered about that we we do like a general tidy up & clean . May as well stay in Airbnb if no service. We had breakfast in boulangerie nearby as the adjacent coffee shop was classed.

We were part of a Road Scholar trip and felt this hotel was the perfect selection. It was close to restaurants, shopping, train station, etc. Most attractions were a quick walk from the hotel. The front desk employees were friendly and helpful. The bell hop was also attentive and patient. Our room were spacious and very quiet. If we visit Quebec again, we would stay at the Hotel Manior Victoria.

I understood when we checked in that we would not have housekeeping services EVERY day. Okay, but I was relying on 1 housekeeping visit half way through our stay as I was told. I finally had to call the 4th day into our 6 day stay to inquire when we would have fresh towels and hopefully our beds made!!! I heard no apologies only an excuse that there must have been some miscommunication!! Miscommunication on whose part I wondered. I finally got 3 towels and a couple coffee pods delivered to our room. I’m still waiting to see if the sheets will be changed for our last night. Oh and Wi-Fi was spotty at best. Would I recommend? I don’t know - let’s see if the sheets get changed !

We spent two nights in this hotel and found it to be exactly what we needed. The rooms were comfortable with all the conveniences we needed. Great blackout blinds, nice toiletries, good climate control and super comfortable beds. The location was also really great for seeing the city and getting around. The only two niggles we had was the stairs directly in reception with no lift to the lobby which wasn’t ideal for getting luggage in and out. The other annoyance was the pool doesn’t open until 2pm so if you wake up early with jet lag don’t expect to be able to go for a swim and sauna. Would stay here again with no issues.

. My friend and I were travelling for our 65th birthday from England. Firstly there are over twenty stairs you have to pull your cases up. There was no one around to help and when we finally got up the stairs the welcome was so frosty and miserable, quite the opposite from the welcome we had in our Toronto hotel. The answer to questions was a nod or a shake of the head with the minimum verbal response required! I cannot fault the room itself, it was spacious and there was enough hanging room in the wardrobe for clothes for two women! Cleaning was only every other day which I think poor. I would have given 5 stars but staffing attitude really needs addressing. Where are the smiling welcoming faces?

Mmm…we had trouble deciding how many stars to give this hotel. We stayed in a “Distinctive” room which was excellent. It was large, well appointed with sofa, chairs and a very comfortable bed. It was also very clean. The hotel is stylish and in a great location. So why the scoring difficulty, if you met the front office team you would know why. Worst greeting of all the hotels we stayed in in Canada. You are met with a steep set of stairs at the entrance with no one around to help you get the heavy suitcases up to reception. The lady on reception had to be coaxed out of the back office to see us and it was obviously a nuisance and something she could have done without. After a few minutes mumbling about the hotel we were left to find our own way to the room. We went back about 40 minutes later to see if they had any teabags and a kettle. She was not interested, all we got was a “no, the coffee machine makes tea” accompanied by a turn of the eyes to let us know she thought we were stupid! We stayed three days and every time we went past reception there was no one there. We were not the only ones to find it frustrating. A shame really as with a bit more effort it could easily have been a 5* as the room was really good.

It’s a nice hotel located in the Old City around the corner from a very popular restaurant street, Rue Saint-Jean. This street is a pedestrian mall most of the day & night and there are dozens of restaurants to choose. I had a large room overlooking the pedestrian street although there was an annoying support column in the middle of the room. Windows are double glazed so there is very little noise. The queen size bed (there were two in my room for a solo stay) was soft but comfortable. A good size bathroom with a big walk in shower. The room is decorated with a recent a modern design. Black is the popular colour. There is free wifi but it pretty slow which is very disappointing for a hotel of this standard.. The TV channel choices are also not great. Like many hotels at the moment there is minimal serving of the room. I stayed 5 nights and had my room serviced only once. And when it was serviced no replacement of bathroom accessories were left. I keep hearing that it is due to staff shortages because of Covid but when paying hundreds of dollars a night it is not unreasonable to expect a more regular service, maybe ever other night. One wonders whether it’s just another excuse to find a way of saving money by the hotel. Service generally at the hotel is not great. There is minimal staff on the front desk. And there are a mass of steps from the street to reception & it is difficult to find a person to help get suitcases up and down the stairs. Overall comfortable & convenient location but would have been even better with an upgrade in hotel service & a friendlier attitude overall.
