I attended our national conference at the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City. It is a gorgeous hotel and well steeped in history. However, our view was not great, mainly other parts of the hotel and overall I think even with company corporate rate, it is hard to justify the cost.
Being in Quebec City, we decided that we must stay at this iconic hotel. Service staff were great, everyone was nice and friendly. We booked the Signature suite after seeing on the hotel site how small the Deluxe rooms are. We are glad we did the Signature suite. Very roomy and bright. We had great views. For the price of the hotel it was very disappointing that the room came with no water or slippers. I was expecting at least 1 or 2 bottled water a day. We ate at the breakfast buffet one day. Food was mediocre at best. Breakfast room did have great views. Overall impression, stay here for the historic hotel but amenities are lacking and food is subpar.
From the impeccable service, the well-appointed guest rooms, and the historic location overlooking Old City, the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac will dominate your travel memories. The impressions begin once you make the turn from Rue St. Louis under the stone arch entryway, and accelerate upon entering a lobby steeped in Old World sophistication and charm.
The place to stay in Quebec City and is in the perfect location with easy walking distance everywhere. This is a historic property that is very interesting unique. Inside the hotel highlights many historical events from over the years. The property is very clean, and the staff are all excellent, front desk, concierge, doormen, etc. We had a junior suite. My only small complaints would be that the bathroom was a bit small and turndown service was mixed up a bit. Recommended.
As always, a beautiful hotel. Right in the middle of the old town. The new thing this time is that you charged our Tesla each night we were there. Thank you. We only wish the US were as forward thinking as Canada is.
Immediate service upon arrival by taking our vehicle and parked it. Loved our room with a view of the water. Eating in the restaurant or room service was excellent. Enjoyed a little shopping within the hotel. I'm bilingual but you don't have to be to visit here. I've been here before and look forward to returning to your grand hotel.
Château Frontenac is spectacular. Our hotel room was luxurious and very comfortable. The Gold Lounge service was impeccable and the staff fantastic. A special call out to Antoine Bureau in the Lounge. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Also, Laurent, took great care of us. Dinner in Le Sam was delicious and fun. We celebrated my sister’s birthday here and the staff made sure it was extra special. We will definitely be back!
Our family traveled from PA to Quebec City and decided to splurge on the hotel stay. The Frontenac is beautiful and has history that we were very interested in learning about. We have 4 children, so we booked a junior suite. Upon arrival, the front desk informed us the room wouldn’t have a view or we could choose to upgrade to thePresidential Suite. For $1500 a night!! The room truly had no view, it looked out at a roof that was taller than the window. Since they already told us there were no other options, we didn’t complain. But upon check out, we did mention what a disappointment the lack of view had been. They were very dismissive and said we offered you an upgrade. Right, for an extra $3000 for the two nights. I found that insulting and disrespectful. We were already splurging and certainly didn’t have an extra $3K. At the very least, they could have not made us pay the two nights for parking.…
We just had to stay at this iconic hotel and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. Make sure to check out the historical photos on the ground floor. Although the weather was cool, we relaxed outside on the lawn chairs then warmed up in the indoor hot tub (also a pool). We were fortunate to stay on a high floor so we had stunning views of Old Town and the St. Lawrence River. Our room was comfortable. An added bonus to a higher floored room, was the concierge level for breakfast. The location is perfect to walk to the various sites. There were a number of good restaurants nearby also within walking distance.
Perfect location to see historic Quebec City and enjoy its restaurants and shops. Beautiful architecture and extremely well managed / staffed. Customer service was excellent at every touchpoint including front-desk, doorman, housekeeping, in-room dining and hotel restaurants. Hotel is truly pet friendly. Our 2 Golden Retrievers enjoyed their stay as much as we did.
