Really enjoyed our stay here. Everything is very clean, and Rob is very helpful with restaurant recommendations and city tips. The breakfast is a bit skimpy. The food is very good, and healthy...but it really doesn't fill you up for long. You almost feel as if you are staying with family and if you don't ask, they do not tidy... More

I would highly recommend La Loggia! My mother and I had a wonderful stay here. Rob and Joel and their staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious, the Garden room was very clean comfortable, and the place is in a great location. We also very much enjoyed the urban garden. And Joel gave us a lovely tour... More

We stayed in the Garden Room for four nights to celebrate the 4th of July & my husbands Bday. The Garden room was very comfortable and had it's own entrance to the Garden area where we enjoyed breakfast each month. Each morning breakfast included soft-boiled eggs, delicious breads assorted cheese, cereal, fruit, and beverages. We found the location ideal to... More

Chose this place based on the reviews. Very glad I did! - Great location in gay village and near Berri UCAM metro, as well as bike rental place - House was IMPECCABLY clean - Not a huge breakfast, but everything was of great quality and it was more than enough to start the day: fresh yogurt, fruit, bread, eggs, tea,... We arrived into Montreal via train from Quebec in the morning on a Sunday. Once we found a subway station, it was easy to get to the B&B. Our room wasn't ready yet since we arrived before checkout time, but we were able to drop off our bags, get some tips on places to check out, and start our relaxing... More

La Loggia is really conveniently located if you plan to explore the city by public transport, or even on foot. The place feels like you are sharing someone's home as a guest, just as much as a paying client. You are made to feel really welcome from the moment you arrive and you are free to use the communal garden... More

Found La Loggia on the Internet and I am glad I did. Everything was great, the accommodation, the breakfasts, the location and my hosts. Plenty of good eating places in very close proximity and a short distance to vieux Montreal.

My wife and I made our first trip to Montreal a few weeks ago. During our planning process, we looked at all sorts of lodging options ranging from boutique hotels to standard chains (blah). During our trolling we came across La Loggia. We knew as soon as we read the description that this would be our temporary home in Montreal.... More

One word, fantastic! The location, the hosts, the art, the food, the bed, the room (we stayed in the Artist’s Loft), everything was absolutely perfect. The bed was so comfy with high quality bedding, pillows and furniture. It was so quiet and being in the Loft with the skylights was perfect for us. It rained almost the entire time we... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
