Positives: Good price (100 CAD), comfy beds, large rooms, good location Negatives: In need of renovation, rude reception staff (apparently not understanding the concept keeping the client happy), average (at best) breakfast. We stayed there for a conference (in the same building), so very convenient and, as said before, good price. But apart from that, I would not choose this... More

Ladies and gentlemen, I swear, this is something I have never seen before!! The hotel is dirty as hell almost everywhere, the staff at the front desk super rude (not everybody but almost), the wifi is a freaking NIGHTMARE comes and goes every 5 seconds and I've been struggling for all the time for calling home. The breakfast... No comment.... More

Less than 1 rating!!!! Staff was down rude when asked about helping with luggage onto floors that had no elevator access!!!! THEY DON'T LIFT ANYTHING TOO BAD, struggle yourself and if you hurt yourself too bad!!!! That on top of a sleepless night because ALL POWER IN BUILDING SHUT OFF AT 11:30 by power company...ALL FOR ENTIRE NIGHT!!! Once again... More

This hotel serves as a University residence during the school year so the building is a little tired. It could use some paint here and there and the bathtub is not new (stains). Despite this the room was very clean, the bed and bedding very comfortable and new. Buffet breakfast and wifi are included. Located in downtown Montreal, very close... More

The location was perfect for us. Walking distance to the hospital, restaurants, grocery stores and coffee shops. The room was clean, updated and didn't hear guests in hallway or next door. Mind you we stayed during the week. The beds and pillows were comfy. Very friendly staff. There is no coffee maker in the room. Free breakfast included with your... More

Was here for a conference. It's a great rate, not a far walk from conference centers. It's not fancy, but was good for my purposes. There are enough restaurants, a grocery store, and things nearby. Not recommended for those looking for a romantic getaway or anything, but it served its purposes.

I was looking forward to my stay at this hotel. The price was right, good location, and telephone contact very good. When I arrived a large youth group was checking in but I was reassured that I would be on a different floor. This residence/hotel appears to be undergoing renovations but my room was large, clean, and had everything I... More

I stayed here as part of a package with a conference. If you have to do this, make sure it's at a cheap rate, because it's not a great establishment. For a hotel it is shabby, for a cheap(ish) group accommodation it is barely adequate. At least the Wifi worked fairly well. Breakfasts included in our tariff consisted of nice... More

Was stuck for a hotel and was hesitant about a student hostel. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning was great and was very quiet. Great location. Helpful staff at front desk. Parking was available downstairs.

The residence which becomes a hotel in the summer is right on du parc on the outskirts of downtown. There is a metro grocery store, dollar store, liquor store and theatre right below the hotel! The building is older but fairly well maintained. My only complaint would be the washroom and the kitchen. The washroom is out od date and... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
