Staff very pleasant, rooms big, clean towels, beds, ceramics however daily room servicing comprised of bed making and clean towels, glasses used were not washed for the guest. The hotel lacks attention to detail regarding detailed cleaning. Hotel looks as if it had ben redecorated recently and new windows. Breakfast very basic. Hotel has lots of potential needs some work... More

I was not expecting much from this hotel as it was quite cheap. I was staying at the end of summer with typically high occupancy rates so I anticipated that this hotel would be a 'DIVE'. How wrong I was. After a speedy check in, I found my room to be clean, simple and to have no external noise. The... More

If you looking for anything but basic this hotel is not for you. The hotel is located in the downtown right at the heart of what's called the village. It is the hottest spot for the gay community in Montreal. It is 4 minutes walking distance to the nearest subway station. The Internet is free and very fast. I was... More

The hotel is located in a convenient place, but the facilities are very poor. We had two rooms. One of the door of a bathroom had a hole in the place of the lock, so you can't lock the door. Moreover, when we went down to have breakfast in the morning, which is very basic with croissants and muffins, my... More

A quiet hotel in a lively neighourhood without being noisy. Close to shops and restaurants for the evening and a five minute walk from the underground or the bus station - ideal for getting to places very quickly. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was a bit oldy worldy but very clean with sufficient towels and toiletries and... More

Fair hotel in the center of the city. Walking distance from all the places to party or sight-see without being loud. My particular bed had cigarette burns in the outermost couvre-lit but considering the price... The staff was very helpful to me, however I'm bilingual so not sure how just anglophone or francophone speakers might feel. They gave good suggestions... More

Good value for the money in downtown Montreal it's not luxury but the price reflects that. the rooms are clean, doors locked at night so only patrons enter, bed is comfortable. And it includes a basic continental breakfast. Quite satisfying

If you don't want to don't want to expand a lot of money with your accommodation, but at the same time want to be in a good location, this could be an option for you. The location is good, and you'll be near important locations in a few minutes walk. The breakfast does not have a lot of options (but... More

Ultra-basic, quite clean, helpful staff -- great location between Latin Quarter and Gay Village. Around the block from the main bus station. Staff is friendly and helpful. Perfect for a weekend sightseeing stay.

This hotel is 2 blocks from Quarter Latin so most of the nice restaurants are right there. There is also park and a mall with super market in the next block. The walk to old town s about 20 mins while downtown is about 25 mins. The location for this hotel for this price is unbeatable. The parking is outside... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
