The sangria server is one of the coolest guys in town. Every employee has gone out of their way to help me navigate the city. The close proximity to the local social hub is excellent. I would definitely come back to this spectacular establishment again.

Thank for your comment. Alexandre will be happy to read that. We have few activities for the guest but Friday Welcome Night is the best. Thanks.

I am an older lady so staying at a hostel may not be a regular event but if all hostels are like Alexandrie, i will prefer this accomodation over a fancy hotel. The warm atmosphere, kind and helpful ppl made staying here feel like home. I felt safe, slept well, roamed freely with acceptance and smiles. I will recommend this...

This establishment is clean, beautiful and full of good vibe. People who work there are very helpful and seem to love what they do. This is now my favorite place to stay, not limited to Montreal but all of the hostels I've stayed in. These guys know what travelers want & need. Definitely, highly recommend it!

In Alenxandrie, interesting and friendly people will make you feel like home. They treat they business really seriously, giving you an comfortable feeling all the time. The hostel is very well located, is easy to get to most part of Montreal and all around downtown. It is a opportunity to get a clean and warm room for a fair price...

We got an entire room to ourselves (8 people). The room was really warm, which was great after living in the woods for so long. We were there for Nuit Blanche festival, it was nearby, so we were thankful there was still room. A nice breakfast of toast and drinks. Very friendly staff and a unique vibe to the building...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
