I had a good stay. The owner Luc is very friendly and helpful. Maybe the place is under renovation but room is quiet and very clean, what I really liked is that beds are very comfy, definitely going back for another stay.

Response from Luc P, Manager at Alexandrie Hostel

Sorry you had a negative experience here. Since all our private rooms have a shared kitchen and bathroom we are strick about how many person can stay in a single: we don't want too many people sharing the bathroom. We would have been happy to tranfert you in one of our larger double rooms but unfortunatly fully booked that week end. We had to charge you since the room was reserved for you until midnight. Next time i recommend you call us and help you to chose one room large enough for your family. We have no doubts about your good faith, there is no fault on either side. We are sorry again about this conflict.

This hostel was pretty awful. Its half a construction zone, but also doesn't seem like any work is being done so is just a mess. Everything is rather shabby and feels kind of like its falling apart. It feels like it was furnished with free stuff off craigslist from 10 years ago. The staff were super nice and helpful, about the only good thing! The breakfast was toast, jam, a sad fruit salad, tea and coffee. The location is decent, walkable but not in the center of things. It was quiet at night (there friday and saturday night) but the street noise was quite loud. Would not stay here again.

The two guys who checked me in were nice and chatty. Room was ok but overpriced. The owner however needs to work ion his manner which I found to be cold unlike his staff who were mostly good. In short if your on a budget do consider it.but the owner could learn from his staff about being more friendly to guests.

Good place to meet people around the world. There is also a kitchen available to have fun. The staffs are nice and friendly. The location is close to Parc La Fontaine. Good place to walk and chill out. I Love Montreal!
