We loved our stay at Le Relais Lyonnais. We stayed in room 301 and found it to be charming and perfect for our weekend getaway to Montreal. Sure it was up 3 flights of stairs and there may have been some street noise as we were at the front of the hotel but we didn't mind. We loved our little... More

In the hub of Old Montreal's latin quarter, this gorgeous little hotel is well worth our stay. It has been completely renovated and modern but keeps the brick walls and shuttered bay window charms. We stayed for one night, checked in very late and found the hosts to be so accommodating and helpful. Definitely will stay again!

Great service, amazing location , right in the middle of the action, but no real noise issue, even though we were right on the street front, which was great as we could open the big windows and take it all in. Walking distance to the interstate bus station too and a gentle stroll to the Old Town and the waterfront... More

I am late reviewing this hotel but have not forgotten the great service we received on our visit. I was travelling with my 10 year old son and booked this hotel after reading its very positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Our room was small but very charming. It was, without a doubt, the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed... More

It's a small hotel right on St. Denis in the middle of the action. Suite was bigger than a hotel room and the bathroom was very nice. Owner is very accommodating as well! Stairs only, so could be cumbersome for some, not for us though.

What a Charming small family owned hotel in Montreal in a great location,10 minutes walk from the Old Town. We were greeted by the owner who was lovely and had a complimentary upgrade for us which is always welcomed. He organised our taxi to pick us up for the airport in a few days and suggested some nice places to... More

We were very happy with our choice of staying at Lyonnais. After our terrible stay in Ottawa, we were very delighted with the service and hospitality of this hotel. At the check-in, we were given a room with a window view of the street below. The location is perfect - restaurants, bars, theatre, main attractions, all within walking distance. You're... More

We were well taken care of in wonderful suite overlooking St. Denis. Open the shutter windows, to enjoy people and patios, sounds of the vibrant city street below! Albert was a gracious host, and recommended a tasty breakfast bakery up the street. Quaint, romantic, and very comfortable, well equipped - we will return on our next trip!

My girlfriend and I stayed for one night and loved it. The manager was extremely accommodating for our early arrival, helped us with our bags, upgraded us, graciously answered our questions and gave great advice about the area. This a very small and quiet boutique hotel, but loaded with character, and style. The room was modern and chic with dark... More

I stayed here one night last week and it is ideally located for getting around Montreal, walking distance to just about everywhere. Rooms are modern with very fast wifi and all the comforts you need, they are nicer than you would imagine when coming in to the hotel from outside. Note that the street is busy with lots of restaurants... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
