I stayed at Hotel Alt Montreal by chance for one night due to a missed connecting flight in Montreal. I had had such a bad experience at the airport with my two little ones that I was incredibly overwhelmed and exhausted by the time I got there. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and hospitable. The room was beautiful and very clean. In the morning, the girl at the front desk was accommodating, gave us breakfast on the house and called a taxi for us. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Montreal. You won't regret it.

We stayed for 3 nights June 27-29. The room was very comfortable and while a bit small, was laid out perfectly so that it didn't feel small at all. The hotel is located a stones throw from the Lachine Canal and a 20 minute walk to the port and Old Montreal. If you want to go to the downtown core it is a 25 minute walk. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a very good gym onsite and there is plenty of food options both in the hotel and nearby. Would certainly stay again.

I never write reviews but promised myself I would when I was so disappointed with this hotel. It is nicely designed, clean, and up to date. The problem I had is that the fan and AC in my room was not working so it was 26 degrees in my room. I asked for it to be resolved multiple times but it wasn't. This made it very hard to sleep and not at all comfortable. Would never return here.

My wife and I stayed at the Alt hotel for 3 nights at the end of October. We did our research to find the best value for a hotel close enough to Old Montreal and ended up booking the Alt hotel with the 3rd night at half price. Not only did we love the location and value, but we were also given one of their nicest rooms with an incredible panoramic view of downtown Montreal. The rooms were very modern and clean, it was an experience we will never forget. Thank you so much Alt Hotel for making our first time in Montreal that much more amazing!

Three start hotel at a great price in a beautiful part of Montreal. Close to the highway, waterfront and some great restaurants and bars including Monette and Gas Bar. Clean, well kept, modern, and great service in English and French. Close proximity to downtown Montreal.

Modern outset, located in the newly developed area. Near all services. Basic services as all is there but the personnel requires some training on how to take care of customers. The only complaint cannot be generalized as depending on the person: We had to intervene as the person behind the counter had more appetite for its iPhone.... to improve.

I was in town for a birthday dinner. Very impressed with the Alt decor and comfort--great bed and bedding, cool reading chair, excellent use of space. Lighting was a bit dim but eventually found a side light that lit the room up. Location very interesting too--Griffintown is a new Montreal hotspot with easy access to the downtown. Large windows make room nice and bright during the day and offer interesting night views. Staff were very pleasant and helpful---including retrieving a toiletry bag I had left behind.

This hotel is nicely designed, the rooms are beautifully decorated, but a number of misses made the stay less then perfect. Bed sheets were not clean - not sure if they weren’t washed properly, or not changed, but let’s just say there were some stains that were not just stains on the bed sheet. They changed them for us the next morning... Internet was not working on our last day. We inquired in the lobby, and were given a code to log in. The code came back as ‘invalid’ - gave up and just used data. The key cards didn’t always work, and, one night the system went down and we were issued ‘one use only’ cards. The hotel was aware of this as they had prepared the cards in advance, but no one said anything to us when we returned to the hotel - we had to return to the lobby after finding the key card didn’t work and was then given a card. There is a fridge in the room - but it was room temp inside, and couldn’t find any temperature control. It looks nice tho. Location - not excellent. A bit of a wasteland compared to other neighborhoods. It is an up and coming area (formerly industrial) with some new restaurants and other necessities within a couple blocks, but an $8-$10 Uber ride from where you want to be in Montreal. Nothing to eat after 10pm except a 24 hour MacDonalds. Nice view from the upper floors. Interesting design from a storage perspective. Very modern Industrial design made for a lovely room, but (oddly) nothing to hang towels on in the room. Lighting was incredibly dim with no option to increase, especially by the full length mirror.
