Bathroom doors are sliding doors with bumpers installed to prevent door from fully closing or locking. Very limited English TV channels (less than usual in QC). Bedding was nice. Elevators to underground parking are not the same Elevators to hotel rooms, which is a pain if you have a lot of luggage.

Great hotel just a short walk from downtown Montreal. Great staff. Nice rooms excellent location. We arrived late due to airline delays, but the staff were accommodating and friendly even at that late hour. They got us settled and got us a few well deserved beers and made us feel welcome. We will definitely return.

Was totally and unacceptably disrespected by the hotel staff. Specifically, an Individual named Robert Prince. I reported an outrage in my room and it had not been rectified. When returning to my room to retire , I informed the front desk and was rudely engaged by this individual.

A friend recommended this hotel in Griffintown, an area of Montreal we hadn't explored before. It was decent value (Montreal was very expensive this summer!). The bed was comfortable, the decor funky, and the location excellent for going to Old Montreal, exploring the trails along the canal, and walking to the train station.

This hotel is situated perfectly near old Montreal but in Griffintown where there is a lot of great restaurants! The hotel is modern and has a great lobby to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine at the end of a great day visiting old Montréal. Well worth it!

Everything was good about the hostel other than it was very very hot in the rooms I told the reception a few times to look into it but they said it’s controlled by management and can’t do anything and the room was literally burning it was like 30 degrees and they did not decrease the temperature which felt like I was sleeping in a sauna so overall I won’t recommend people to stay here😐

I had a nice stay at this hotel. I liked the trendy and modern style of my room (a single Queen bed). The room was clean and equipped with all the necessities. The room had a nice TV, a good desk to get some work done, and a Nespresso coffee machine. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive. They accommodated my various requests including those for housekeeping and for a cot I needed one night to host a friend ($20 for one night). Housekeeping did a great job each time - be sure to leave a tip for housekeeping, always! There were also comfortable seats in the lobby area to use one's laptop, read a book, or to just relax. The gym is on the 8th floor. I never saw anyone using it, but it looks like a decent (although small) facility for cardiovascular workouts. I have two constructive criticisms: (1) the items for sale in the lobby were a bit too expensive for my taste. Because I had become sick during my travels, I appreciated the easy access to vitamin water in the hotel lobby. But the beverages, pastries, and snacks were a little bit on the expensive side. (2) I have a personal aversion to using bathroom tap water to fill up my water bottle. I wish there was a readily accessible water fountain in the lobby with access to fresh and cool water. I used the water fountain in the gym instead. The hotel is located in Griffintown. It is a little removed from Old Montreal and from the financial/entertainment districts. So be prepared to walk or to take a taxi/Uber to get to the tourist destinations.

Modern Experience New and modern hotel . Walk is minutes from downtown and old Montréal. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Asked if our room had a refrigerator ahead of time. Attendant put in a note and we were happy we ended up with one. Room was comfortable and roomy. Parking was $25/day. Wasn’t affiliated with the hotel.

Nice hotel to stay in Griffintown, located near the Old Port and very close to a nice bike trail as well. Rooms was good, but a bit small. It included a Nespresso machine. Check out time is apparently flexible if you are a member. The hotel is well located in a gentrified/gentrifying neighborhood with lots of cool little shops, coffee shops, etc. I would stay here again.

This was my second stay at the Alt. It's a great location right beside tge Lachine Canal, and within a 15-minute walk to the Metro, the train station and Old Montreal, and a slightly longer stroll to the Atwater Market and the restaurants in Little Burgundy. It's not a luxury hotel but everything is super clean, comfortable and modern. Access to coffee/tea, wine/beer and snacks in the lobby is very handy. The Alt offers great service and value!
