My Husband, daughter and I stayed at the Candlewood Suites for 3 nights in July. It was very good for access to Old Montreal and Chinatown, with a great shopping centre/ supermarket close by. The hotel we found to be more like renting a one-bedroom apartment, with an enormous kitchen with good facilities and quite a large bathroom. The hotel...

We stayed here the first night of our honeymoon and it was just a short walk to Old Montreal. The room was quite nice and clean, and we weren't expecting a full kitchen but it was a nice addition! The coffee pot broke but definitely wasn't as important as the location... and a pretty decent view out the window as...

We had 6 of us and the best value was a two bedroom suite at the Candlewood Suites for 171 a night. The rooms have a kitchenettes, 3 TVA one with a DVD player and we had brought a few. The hide a bed was actually not too bad. There is no daily maid service but you can exchange your...

These rooms are massive! Most of them are like apartments. They come equipped with full kitchens and living rooms. We always bring our own food up when we stay at this hotel. It's a great way to save a little money instead of finding a restaurant. This hotel is a great location (walking distance) for any concerts you might be...

We stayed here with 2 adults and 2 teen-agers in a 2 bedroom suite. The room was nice and large -- very nice to spread out. The only real complaint we had was the air conditioning. They have large AC units in the windows are the fans are very loud. We had to replace the batteries in the thermostat in...

We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite with another couple for a weekend in early July. The suite itself was a little worn but it was very clean and it was huge. The living room was especially roomy and featured a couch and two leather reclining chairs, which were a great treat after wandering the city all day. Our only disappointment...

Depending on your needs, this can be a great find. It was terrific for us, traveling as a couple with our college-student daughter and not wanting to spend a ton of money. We got to the hotel shortly after noon. Parking was a little confusing because the hotel website and many of the reviews here mention valet parking but they...

I actually really liked my room because of the kitchen and I could make a few things in there as well as boil water for tea etc. I have only one complaint and that is with the slow wifi. It says they have highspeed Internet but when I called the front desk they said they changed everything to wireless. But...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
