This place tries to create small issues so they can charge you for cleaning the room and other charges when they only provide room service on request (even stacking garbage neatly in corner). Buyer beware!

The location is amazing. It's a very short walk from the metro and then a short trip to the center of the city, Mount Royal, and the fun neighborhoods in the city. The neighborhood itself is also lively and fun. There was a great public square with live music and other activities right there. The decor of the room and furniture are a bit dated - but everything was clean and comfortable. The hotel fit our needs very well, but if you're looking for a modern, spa like environment, that this is not.

My wife and I stayed here in Aug. 2022.  It's a perfectly good hotel for the price.  Nothing fancy but the bed was comfortable and it's walking distance from Old Montreal and the Port area.  There aren't a lot of restaurants close by so you'll have to take Uber if you want to go out for dinner.  There is underground parking on site ($20/night) but it's cramped and limited.  You're not going to want to try to get a full sized SUV down there.  If you're driving a small car though it's fine.  The staff are nice but a bit out of it.  I asked the girl at the desk if there were any good restaurants nearby and was met with a blank, slack jawed stare.  Eventually she shoulder tapped the other guy on the desk and he was able to answer me.  (He didn't know.)  They were pleasant enough though.  The breakfast was just croissants, toast and coffee.. but it was fine.  Honestly, for the location and room comfort, I'd say it's decent value and I'd probably stay there again.  Just don't go in expecting a lot.

We have been at the hotel for three days. The room smelled like a fish, I think because of the old carpet. To make things worse, The hotel policy is to clean rooms only after three days. I asked three times to different staff members on different days to have my room cleaned because of the bad smell, and nothing happened. I only can imagine that The staff is not trained to deal with customers, because they took note of my request, but the room has not been cleaned. I talked to the manager, and she only said that she was sorry and seemed that she didn't care. Finally, I made a review like this on the site where I made the reservation, and later the hotel sent me an email asking me to write a review here. I can only think they are not worried about feedback because they didn't read anything I wrote. This reinforced the feeling I had after talking to the manager. Stay away!!!

I'm a low maintenance traveller so my experience is probably going to be appreciated by people more like myself. The first thing I liked about this hotel was that it had a kitchen, which was great for eating leftovers or cooking cheap ramen. The second thing was the location was also great as it was walking distance to Saint Denis Street and St Catherine Street which comprises of many restaurants and bars. Both streets are also closed to vehicle traffic making them fully pedestrian-friendly. There's also grocery stores and banks. The hotel was also located perfectly next to a major subway station called Berri-UQAM where three lines converge, including the yellow line which goes directly to St. Helen's Island. The airport bus route 747 also stops at this major hub too which was perfect for me. The one con I did have was that the air conditioning is very loud. I personally don't use AC but my friend needed it, and it kept me up at night, so if you're the type of person that is a light sleeper that needs a colder room, bring ear plugs. It is an older hotel, but I honestly found it completely fine. I'm not sure if it's because I tend to seek lower-cost accommodations but this hotel didn't seem that old to me at all.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Yes the area could not been better but we had no problems. Rooms very clean. Area not too bad. 6 minute walk to the old town. Supermarket very close. Breakfast taken in room. Muffin orange juice and 2 pieces of bread to make toast. About 25 minutes from central train station. Reception staff very friendly

Hotel is from 1990s with a dirty dumpy street , homeless tents. The bed was Queen and terrible. They had a kitchen with old appliances and decaf coffee only. Fridge barely worked. I’d recommend to pay $50 more and go to Marriott across the street. The floor hall smelled like curry every day because room kitchens don’t have any vents Front desk was great thou.

Wonderful location a block from a main subway interchange so it is easy to get anywhere. The room was spotless. The mini-kitchen came in handy (there is a full grocery store 2 blocks away). A full hot breakfast was included. The staff were friendly and efficient. I will definitely stay again!

The hotel is situated in a dirty, creepy street, although it’s convenient for public transportation. It has a garage but parking is expensive, about $18/night. The hotel itself is outdated and would definitely need renovation—the “exercise room” for instance consists of 4 machines total, 2 of which was out of order... Our room was spacious but the windows were facing the other building so not much of a view. We also had a kitchenette but I found it kind of petty and appalling that a small piece of paper warned on one of the cupboards to wash all the cups/cutlery/etc. you use otherwise you’ll be charged by $25+tax... It’s not like I would want to make a huge mass but I thought it’s part of the “deal” being able to use stuff without actually doing all the cleanup. The bed was quite uncomfortable being super soft and also very short—I’m not a super tall person but my feet were almost hanging off the bed. The “work station” with a desk and a comfortable chair was useful. The breakfast was good; staff were nice.
