This hotel is a little different. It really has no lobby. It’s like you go into the Blue Nile restaurant (associated with the hotel) and a set of stairs to the right leads up to a few floors of rooms. You get a key to lock and unlock the door when the restaurant isn’t open, because there isn’t front desk... More

Great bohemian style hotel very well located. The entrance is a tad unorthodox but the junior suite we had was very fine indeed! King size bed that was very comfortable and the unit had a little kitchen area .... Stove did not work but there was an espresso machine and a coffee maker to heat up water for tea. The... More

Hotel Kutuma is one of those places that you go into not expecting too much and get your socks blown off. Wow. Attention to detail is EVERYTHING and they get it right. The hotel is quite and very peaceful, it's built around an African theme and done so in a very tasty fashion and style. The rooms are a good... More

Nice boutique hotel with the necessary amenities that are needed. This quaint hotel only has about 12-15 rooms. The check in process was smooth and seamless. Hotel staff were very friendly, accommodating and took our bags to the room. I wouldn't recommend this property if you have difficulty climbing stairs as there is no elevator. The metro is easy to... This is a small boutique hotel. Very unique and fun - not at all like a corporate hotel chain. The valet was quick and easy. You must be able to travel upstairs there are no elevators. The rooms were clean and cute, great little kitchenette with a yummy espresso machine. The tub was huge, it was wonderful to take a... More

It is all that you expect it to be: seamless service from check in, to breakfast service in the room, dinner downstairs in the restaurant. Great food. Top location to just walk around Montreal fancy restaurants and shops. Only downside was the valet service was a bit slow, minor matter. The rooms are beautifully appointed. This hotel is everything that... More

Hotel Kutuma is nothing but a fairly priced hotel with weird decor and friendly staff. The location is great, on Rue Saint-Denis there are many bakeries, restaurants and bars that you can choose from. The room was a fair size with kitchen facilities, which were not the cleanest. It appeared that the glasses that were placed in our room were... More

Hotel Kutuma is situated on a busy portion of Rue St.Denis. Busy in that your options for shopping, dining, drinking coffee, wine, beer & hot chocolate are at your door step. Rooms are well equipped with kitchen facilities, a spacious setting, a very clean bath room and comfortable bed. Don't expect fancy concierge service, a gym or mini bar. They... More

I found Kutuma by pure chance- it was a popular weekend in Montreal and this was one of the few hotels available that fit the bill. Driving up to the hotel it is completely unassuming, even the check in is simple, however, once you enter the rooms it's like a completely different place. The rooms are spacious, have a small... I stayed at this hotel based on the reviews of TripAdvisor. This hotel was not bad, far from it, however it also wasn't an amazing hotel either. I stayed in one of their suites with the full kitchen and living room. Bed was comfortable (soft mattress), with a lot of pillows. It had a very good location being on St.... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
