What a wonderful hotel. The pictures don't do it justice, the room was so wonderful and had a boutique and unique feel. My partner and I are currently travelling around Canada from England and booked all our hotels in advance. Much to my surprise my boyfriend proposed to me the day before we stayed at Hotel Kutuma, so this hotel... More

A great neighbourhood, a small hotel, quiet and with friendly, helpful staff. All that we look for in a hotel. The room is very comfortable with facilities for making breakfast or lunch, microwave, nespresso machine, hotplate and kettle.

Hotel Kutuma is very well located if you want easy access to downtown and the Plateau Mont-Royal. It's a 2 minute walk from the nearest tube station. It's clean with a nice restaurant and pleasant staff.

I had just about settled on a run-of-the-mill chain hotel that might as well be in Alabama or Missouri when I learned about this alternative, which exudes the offbeat charm of Montreal's Plateau neighborhood. Our king junior suite, whimsically decorated with leopard prints and woven furniture, boasted an ample bathroom with window, a narrow balcony overlooking the local roofscape and... More

This boutique hotel was a real find. We booked suite 201 a short flight of stairs above the street level restaurant. It faced the street but was always quiet even with road work going on Rue St-Denis. The location suited us well as we used the metro to get around (5 minute walk) and could easily walk to the Quartier... More

My husband and I stayed there early July and were very pleased with the room, service and location. Room had a wonderful sitting area and large bathroom with jacuzzi tub. Nice after a long day of walking the city. Staying in Plateau Mont Royal gave us an opportunity to explore this area of Montreal. which we loved.

We stayed in Kutuma three times already, and I don't see a reason why we wouldn't come back. Beautiful place, interesting decor, wonderful breakfast - what else do you need? I'd add that it is also within walking distance to everything, but hey - everything in Montreal is within walking distance to everything. Restaurant is a bit disappointment, but we... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Kutuma for three nights in May 2016 at a cost of £210.00. The hotel is situated within very close walking distance of the subway which made it easy to get to from the train station and gave easy access to most of the city. The Hotel is located on St Denis Street which... More

This place was a gem. Reasonably priced in a perfect location in the heart of the Mont Royale neighborhood. Literally a three minute walk from the metro station and surrounded by many many restaurants and bars. The staff was super friendly, with good tips on what to do, where to eat, etc. Our room wasn't ready when we got there... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights at the end of December. We booked a couple days before we departed, and received a great rate. The rooms are stunning, and the decor and furniture in the rooms is top notch. Bathroom was huge, with double sink, and a large hot tub for two that was just perfect. The... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
