This was my 2nd time visiting this property and it didn't disappoint. I can't say enough good things about the staff, room, food, ambience. It all started with a very attentive and helpful valet who exuded positivity (as did all the staff). It was a very easy and seamless check-in with friendly front desk staff. The concierge, Merreille, greeted us immediately to see if there was anything she could help us with and continued to go above and beyond throughout our 2 night stay. The hotel is situated at the edge of Old Montreal and next to a metro station. It's within walking distance to many attractions, shopping and restaurants. We stayed in a Fantastic Suite that was very spacious, well appointed with a huge soaker tub, large walk in shower with a wonderful rain head, double sinks and a separate WC. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and, in case you need any extra help sleeping, there's a sleep machine next to it with your choice of white noise, rain, etc. There are blackout curtains on the windows and a nespresso machine with capsules. The tv is large and swivels from the bedroom side to the living room side. The only minor negative was that the tv only has basic cable with a few English channels and lots of French channels as well as pay per view movies, music & games. The tv is enclosed so you can't access the HDMI port if you want to hook your laptop etc to it and there's no option for streaming. The breakfast was also excellent. I highly recommend the French toast with maple syrup that's been infused with lavender and fresh berries.
All in all, it was a fantastic getaway and I'm looking forward to next time. Thank you all.

I stayed at the W Montreal in December for a business trip. I've stayed at many W properties around the world and this one certainly lives up to the reputation. It is cool, trendy and in a great location/accessible to public transit and close to beautiful old Montreal. The main thing that stuck out to me was the level of authentic service at the employees offer. I was immediately greeted by the wonderful Mireille and Lisa at concierge/front desk who made me feel comfortable and made my first impression of the hotel warm and personable. I appreciated this as business trips can often times feel lonely being away from home. Mireille and the concierge team proceeded to send some locally inspired treats to my room which i thought was a great touch to welcome me to the city. Later during my stay, Caroline from the W Insider team reached out to me via Marriott Bonvoy app chat to ensure everything was going well and provided me personalized dinner recommendations. I took her up on one of the suggestions at Le Serpent not to far away from the hotel where I had one of the best meals I've had in a long time. It's always great when you get some local knowledge to guide your stay in a foreign city. Lastly, my room was always clean and comfortable. The housekeeping team must have realized that i didn't have a mouse pad while doing work at my laptop so they kindly left me a funky W inspired mouse pad with a note. I thought this was super amazing and a great way to anticipate my needs as I had been using the back of my ipad case previously in order to make the mouse work. Bravo W Team!! Thank you and i'll be back.

Stayed at the W Montréal for 2 nights with my husband. Hotel is very clean and very modern. Room was pretty basic, bathroom was small with a odd shaped long shower. Staff were all excellent, especially at concierge. I was surprised with a lovely birthday treat upon arrival which I thought was a very nice touch. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the fact that our room was not cleaned our second day, even though we had been out since 11am. We called front desk once we arrived at 5pm and housekeeping came shortly after to clean and replenish towels. We would’ve liked to relax after sightseeing all day before heading out to dinner but instead had to wait on the couch for them to clean.

My wife and I travel quite a bit and we were looking forward to trying to W Montreal. This would be the ninth W hotel we have stayed at worldwide. We are Marriott loyalists in general. We stayed 4 nights in July.

I would like to start by saying that the staff overall were great. Everyone was helpful and always welcomed us with a smile from the valet to servers to front desk, staff and housekeeping.

The Location is tough to beat as you are a five minute walk from downtown and old Montreal.

That being said, the building is really starting to show its age. The rooms were overall clean and we were upgraded to a fantastic sweet based on my titanium elite status with Marriott. The only major issues we had for our first breakfast at TBSP. They seemed to be understaffed. We sat for around 12 minutes before anyone came up to our table, and other guests were clearly annoyed at the lack of attention. When we finished the meal I signed for the check and we were told at the front desk would zero out the check as I do get free breakfast as a titanium elite member. This did not happen, and the full charge of the breakfast appeared on our bill. That being said, the hotel was quick to remove it once I pointed it out.

Another issue we had was our room not being cleaned on one of our days. We noticed after lunch it had not been cleaned and I messaged the front desk at 1:30 PM asking for someone to please go up and clean it while we were out. We returned at 3:30 PM and no one had cleaned the room yet. I messaged the front desk as we were in somewhat of a rush and had a early dinner reservations. Another hour and a half went by before the room is cleaned and my wife and I were quite put off by this.

I would say, overall that the staff were great at the W Montreal, but the overall experience is certainly lacking, especially given the nightly rate here. If you are a Marriott loyalist, I would recommend skipping the W in Montreal, and instead go down the street to the Humaniti hotel, which in my opinion is much nicer and less expensive.

Was our first time visiting Montreal so we really didn't know where to start, but we found a great deal on a room at the W and decided to give it a shot. It was definitely a wise decision, we ended up on the 10th floor with a balcony in a room with super high ceilings and an over all spacious vibe. All the little touches in the room from easy ability to hook your phone to the sound system, to the funky bathroom and free water add up. The bar on the first floor was excellent and was doing an great G&T menu when we were there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside is I wouldn't say this is an ideal location for someone new to Montreal, was located more in the business district.

When we booked the hotel, we got the standard communication, asking if we required further assistance that we should contact the concierge. We usually ignore those but we decided to let the concierge know that we are coming to their hotel for our honeymoon. That decision was perhaps the best we ever made, as it triggered all kind of activities by Sandrine, Thomas and Bruno, the concierge team. They asked what my wife’s likes were. I told them and, armed with a modest budget, Sandrine et al went to town. They were very attentive and warm when we arrived, and what they did for us showed a personal touch that we did not expect. From the airport pick up, to the adornment of our room (which by the way they worked to get upgraded to a suite at no extra cost), they made our visit truly memorable.

So when visiting the W, I highly recommend that you reach out to the concierge, hopefully you would get Sandrine to attend to you. Let them know the occasion and just sit back and watch them work to make your stay the best ever.

Last FRI 5/6 was my wife’s Birthday…even though we’re each Titanium Elite Bonvoy, I suspect front desk staff member Lisa acknowledges everyone with the same gracious smile and personal attention. I later learned she was from Hawaii and on staff 10 years…she was awesome!

Even though the room reservation was in my wife’s name, Lisa asked for my passport instead, negating any chance she may have connected that it was indeed my wife’s birthday. Yet, after some very subtle inspiration from me that it was—Lisa quickly offered her a warm and sincere BD greeting, acknowledged our Suite Night Award requests were granted and then provided us w/two drink vouchers along with a heads up to bar tender Fernando that today was her BD. He surprised us w/espresso martini shots before making a few more cocktails and sharing sincere and excited conversation about a very busy FRI the week prior and travels very shortly after an unusual early shift to Vermont to see family for the Mothers Day weekend.

We were already so thankful for the amazing high floor corner Fantastic Suite! Wow…it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Yet, as we were about to leave the room for dinner and the Celeste Cirque du Soleil show a gentle knock on the door and moments later we were extended a bottle of Prosecco and a silver tray of fruit and cookies from the two concierge Ninielle and Alban with a very kind handwritten note.

Nevertheless, unlike Westin and other Marriott properties—even though no name badges are worn by staff at the Montreal “W” we made it a priority to thank them for their genuine hospitality. Lisa even provided a handwritten card of her personal favorite bistros and coffee shops for SAT after the show.

My wife totally enjoyed the Cirque show even though she was brought on stage and acknowledged by the emcee after completely exceeding expectations by the Venue Manager Sylvie.

In addition to the hot and tasty room service breakfast’s each morning….I know we each can’t wait for a return visit to Montreal…while my wife was at the nearby Fairmont Queen Elizabeth for three nights for a conference; I know in just two short nights the entire staff at the “W” couldn’t have made us feel anymore welcome and where we’ll be staying!

there are a lot of things to like about 'W' hotels. In fact I have stayed in many of them all over the world. The W Montreal is good. It's not cheap but that's to be expected. Rooms are clean and the room staff, in my case, are wonderful. What is not so good is this... I'm here on business and the two rooms we have are paid for by ,y company. No problem there. I got the usual request for my credit card for incidentals again no problem, apart from when I checked my credit card statement. For incidentals for two rooms for ten nights, the W Montreal locked $9,475 from my credit card. This is totally overkill, and also unacceptable. I am a long time member of the Marriott Bonvoy scheme, so they know me, and I'd like to think, trust me. If I was here on vacation, this could totally screw up my holiday, leaving my credit card unusable. They offered to refund it but it will be locked for ten days and I have to deal with my bank to ask them to expedite things. The bank don't want to play ball of course. Not cool.

My husband and I celebrated our 1st anniversary here over the weekend and were very impressed with the care from the W team and the beautiful amenity in our room! Mauricio Villalobos, in particular, was a complete rockstar and our trip wouldn't have been half as great if it weren't for him: he got us reservations in some of the coolest cocktail lounges and bars and was always willing to help make sure we were having the best time (thanks so much Mauricio!) He also made sure we went to the right restaurants. The bell/door staff over the weekend (9/16-9/18) were some of the most polite and attentive staff I have seen in awhile (and I come from a hotel background). The only thing we would have liked to see was more towel hangers in the bathroom. Also important to note is that this hotel is perfectly centrally located to walk to some of the best restaurants and bars. Look forward to seeing you all again and thanks for a fantastic stay :)

We stayed at the W from 12/26 to 1/1. The hotel is beautiful- we had a suite and it was absolutely spotless and extremely comfortable. Every employee was fantastic and incredibly responsive. I stay at a ton of Marriotts every year and their use of the the chat feature on the Marriott app can be very hit or miss. Not here. If I needed something or had a question, I would use the app to chat with the front desk and they would answer immediately. More importantly, they would fulfill the request right away.

Truly a hotel that takes the idea of hospitality seriously- they have a slogan of "Anything Anytime" and these employees live by it. From the front desk personnel to the Valet to our housekeeper, just excellent all around.

A GREAT stay!
