Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.

I stayed with Petra, Daniel and Mssr. Petit for two nights after a bike ride on the Petit Train du Nord north of Montreal -- I almost felt like a "townie" due to their knowledge of Montreal. You can get everywhere by bus or Metro from their home and they, of course, will help

We had planned a short visit to Montreal as we would only be a couple hours drive away in Vermont. Finding the prices and amenities for hotels at that time very high I researched B&Bs and found this little gem. We stayed in the "Suite Juillard" which was perfect for myself, my

Bonjour. As Paolo mentioned already, in normal traffic it takes about 30 minutes from the airport to our B&B (on the highway; we are about 10 minutes from Highway 40). The Montreal Port Authority is currently developing an extensive restoration project of Alexandra Pier and Montréal Cruise Terminal. This major work will make it possible to restore both the existing infrastructure and its original vocation as a welcoming establishment for cruise passengers. Furthermore, this restoration work will contribute to better integrating the terminal and pier into the urban fabric of Old Montreal. Therefore, the Montréal Cruise Terminal will be closed for the 2016 season and relocated few miles away. On the website of Tourisme Montreal you can find up do date information about the cruise terminals in Montreal The "Bateau Mouche" are small boats with which you can make dining and sighseeing/entertainment cruises near the Old Port. The Old Port and the Old City of Montreal are about 15 minutes by car from our B&B; about 30 minutes with public transportation. I hope this information is helpful and we will have the pleasure of greeting you as our guest. Petra & Daniel and "Monsieur Petit"
