This hotel is definitely worth a repeat visit! Friendly, helpful staff, a well-appointed room and cozy common areas gave the feeling of a boutique European inn. Very close to parks, great restaurants, and street sights, and a 20 min. walk to Old Montreal. The breakfast basket was a very nice touch!

Stayed for 3 nights, good service, friendly staff. The subway right across the street. A beautiful park with outdoor music during the summer months added to the atmosphere of the area. It is in the Latin Quarter . The value was very good during the Just for Laugh Festival. We were able to walk to all the venues. The breakfast... More

The hotel room itself was very clean and had a view out to the street. All staff was friendly and helpful especially to someone who didn't speak any French what so ever. Everything was neat and tidy and despite obvious renovations going on, I was never disturbed by it. Located in an excellent area with restaurants of all types only... More

An excellent little boutique hotel in a great location, within easy walking distance to Old Montreal, the city centre, the St. Denis entertainment district, lots of restaurants, a laid-back city park, and a Metro station. Easy and affordable parking at $17/day essentially right on site. The room was modern, well-appointed and comfortable. The "picnic basket" breakfast was memorable and great,... More

We selected this hotel based on other reviews and found it to be just as described. The Hotel Staff were very helpful in directing us to streets loaded with good restaurants, and easy walking distance from Old Montreal. We were happy to be able to park our car in nearby secured parking and not have to drive until we were... More

This is a very nice European-style hotel. As such, the rooms are on the small side but very clean and comfortable. The staff are uniformly friendly and helpful, and the place is quite charming in a Montreal kind of way. A very good continental breakfast is included in the room rate and is delivered to the room, but there is... More

A true and total sense of ambivalence regards my stay. In the one sense the destination itself is great and welcoming. HOWEVER, upon my second night I fell down on my bed, after a long day only to fall into a NEEDLE in my pillow. This in unacceptable and caused severe amounts of discomfort to my stay. Truly disheartening.

Dear Mr Dutoit, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our Hotel. First of all, we appreciate you enjoy our city. Concerning the needle in the decorative pillow, we were as surprised as you and we investigate. You probably saw, during your stay, that we changed bedspread and decorative pillows. In 23 years of carreer, the... More

Nice room plenty of space. Easy parking at rear of hotel. Not too far to walk to main attractions in city. Lovely breakfast hamper, ate in room one day and took to dining area the second. We were warned about the renovation work but were somewhat surprised to be woken at 7.30am by drilling.

We stayed there over Canada Day weekend/the international jazz festival. The hotel was walking distance to everything. Breakfast was included which was much appreciated. Free wifi too. Nice place, the rooms could use some updating but overall it was a good experience.

Everything about our stay exceeded expectations. Quaint and cozy hotel centrally located with friendly and attentive staff. Though the room was small, my daughter and I comfortably slept on our memory-foam bed and had enough room to sit comfortably and enjoy the continental breakfast delivered to our door each morning. We enjoyed the fresh and flaky croissants however attention to... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
