Spent two nights this past weekend at BBV and was most impressed with the accomodations and the hosts. The B&B is most conveniently located just off Rue Ste. Catherine, and within easy walking distance to the Old Port as well as other attractions in the East End of Montreal. Parking was most convenient for $10 per night, cheaper than any... More

We had a room on the first floor with a private bath. Very clean. Amazingly quiet given it's central location. The hosts were welcoming, attentive (eggs to order) and gave great advice on getting around. Off street parking for $10 per day was great. One block fom the Beaudry metro stop and a short walk to the old town. Can't... More

This little gem is the best you could hope for in price, comfort, ambiance, friendliness, location and overall charm. Usually when the word "value" is used, I assume there will be some sacrifice in amenities, but that is NOT the case here. Everything was provided and the quality was top of the line. It was also extremely clean!! We loved... More

I stayed at the Bed and Breakfast du Village on the 1st of April, 2012. I totally enjoyed my stay. My room was great. I had my own bathroom and the accomodations were excellent. Breakfast was great. I was given the run of the place and felt very comfortable. The location was great! I would definately stay again. Thanks Philippe!

I stayed for one week at this B&B in April, 2011 and will be returning for a week in May, 2012. This is a tremendous value for anyone considering Montreal and its many charms. It is located super close to the Metro (Beaudry station) and literally steps away from an amazing array of wonderful restaurants and clubs. The owners are... More

The 'B&B du Village' couldn't be better located. In the heart of the Gay Village, at walking distance from pretty much anywhere you would want to go in Montréal, yet on a nice and quiet side street. We slept like babies in the extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was shiny, bringing up the standards of B&B cleanliness. The breakfast was... More

I could not have asked for a better location. Easy access to village with its wonderful restaurants and night life ... and 1 minute walk to Metro for visiting other Montreal sites. Phillip and Nicolas were extremely friendly and great hosts! Wonderful breakfast to start the day off right. Rooms and common areas very clean and well maintained. I've added... More

First things first. The bed and breakfast is in a great location and the owners are awesome. They are visionaries when it comes to what a bed and breakfast should be. The bedding is so very comfortable. Phillipe makes you feel welcome and obviously loves Montreal. There is plenty to eat at breakfast. Water to take on your journey. Maps... More

Great location in the heart of the gay community. So much life in Le Village! This sweet B&B was just perfect. Great rooms, wonderful linens, sweet common areas, fantastic hosts ... Nice intelligent friendly, well educated guys! A wonderful relaxing stay and great conversation around the breakfast table ( even for us straight people) . Can't wait to go back.... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
