The bbv is centrally located, very close to Metro, quiet and very clean. Perfect welcome by Philippe and Nicolas, both charming, efficient, professional and very friendly. Philippe and Nicolas are helpful with what to do in town and lend books, maps, etc. Your room is beautifully furnished with aircon/fan and free wifi. You can use the fridge, water fountain and...

We got married June 23, 2012 and because we live in the Lake Champlain area and summer is the best time to be on the lake, we didnt want to take a full honeymoon until the winter (when the weather is terrible) and because Montreal is only an hour and a half from us, we decided that would be the...

This was our 1st trip to Montreal and our stay at BBV was nothing but a positive experience! BBV is within walking distance to two Metro stations and to the Festivale du Jazz! Phillipe gave us directions any time we asked and made some helpful suggestions. While the room we had was small, it was very clean and modern and...

The property is beautiful; the proprietor really charming; and the location could not be better. Located a few steps off of the central Village artery, Rue Catherine, the BBV is also really close to a Metro stop. We loved the breakfast. Freshly baked croissants every morning, locally made jams; cheese; cereal; and more. A special treat were the still warm...

The day we arrived there was a terrific traffic jam. Many of the area streets were blocked off for cyclists. We had to carry our luggage into the place and later fetch the car. I would recommend checking the city event schedule before you book. Plan on leaving your car in their garage. It's worth the extra cost. Their B&B...

This was my third stay at the BBV (second the with current owners) and I definitely plan on staying here on my next visit to Montreal. Phillipe and Nicholas are perfect hosts - gracious, friendly, helpful, and attentive. The environment is very comfortable and comforting. If you are a person who likes to lounge around in your room - you...

I recently spent just over a week in Montreal and enjoyed eight very comfortable and restful nights at the BBV, tucked away in the well-appointed "Cottage". Travelling solo and on my first visit to Montreal, I found this a perfect place to stay. Close to the Metro and within walking distance to the central city, I really felt like I...

I just spent 2 nights here this past weekend and I highly recommend the place. I thought the location was perfect, near 2 metro stations and tons of cafes/restaurants. The owners were really nice and welcoming and answered any questions I had since this was my first solo trip to Montreal. I would come back anytime! PS: I thought the...

We spent one weekend on may 2012. The "B&B du Village" is well situated if you enjoy night life but a little bit far from the historic centre, museums and Mont Royal (at least 30 min by foot). Nicolas is very pleasant while Philippe seems to grow weary of his duties even though he was very polite and helpful. We...

Management response:

We are very thankful for every comment our guests make, as it reflects their honest opinion on their stay with us. Although we are unable to find solutions to all of the remarks that were made, we have decided to take the following actions: (1) the ventilator in the bathroom will be replaced (2) the stairs at the outside of...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
