We stayed at BBV for 8 nights, and we could not have been happier. We were made to feel extremely welcome, and everything was perfect. Our accommodations were comfortable and we truly enjoyed our stay in Montreal. We found we could walk downtown and to many other places, and the subway was only a short block away. We also rented... Don't let the location deter you, Philippe & Nicholas run a first class B&B in Montreal's east end. For years I stayed in the heart of downtown and sorry that I missed this gem. Our room was not large but very, very cozy. Private and secure parking away from prying eyes was a bonus for a small surcharge. Breakfast was... More

We were thrilled with our stay at Bed & Breakfast du Village. Our hosts, Philippe and Nicolas, were so helpful and the absolute perfect hosts. They welcomed us warmly into their home and were simply charming. Our room (an en suite on the main level) was spotless, comfortable, and very quiet, and the price was spectacular considering the great location... More

As there were no rooms available I was offered a recently renovated apartment slightly removed from the main building. My only regret was that I was only staying two days in this well-equipped upscale suite. A plus was the availability of secure off-street parking on the premises along with access the subway two minutes away. Unlike many B&Bs, this one... More

Our two night stay at B&B du Village was great; we loved the place. A very relaxed atmosphere and welcoming hosts. The room was spotless and had everything we needed, and there was a great shared balcony overlooking the inner courtyard where we could relax after a day exploring Montreal. Breakfast was made to order in the convivial kitchen and... More

My partner and I stayed at the B & B for 4 nights with friends in two of the other rooms. The rooms were very comfortable, great mattress and enough room for clothes. Hot shower was so relaxing. The hosts, Nicolas and Phillippe were so friendly, attentive and personable and made our stay there memorable. Delicious breakfast each morning and... More

We enjoyed our stay at the "BBV" immensely. The property is well kept and appointed. Our room was spotlessly clean and offered everything we needed. Philippe, Nicolas and their staff are great hosts. Friendly, welcoming, and they provide the answers to all your questions regarding your stay in Montreal. The breakfast was fantastic: everything freshly prepared, well-presented, and a great... We arrived for a three-night stay. Philippe and Nicolas treated us wonderfully. The rooms, food, and location all work very well. On-site secure off-street parking is a real bonus in a large city like Montreal. Knowing we would return through Montreal on our driving trip, we quickly made additional reservations for the following week. We've stayed in many B&B's over... More

We arrived late after a flight, bus, metro day that had more than one wrong turn and we were hot, tired and hungry. Philipe expedited our warm welcome with immediate air conditioning, a quick feet-up on soft pillows and directions to the best Vietnamese food I have tasted, ever (I mentioned we were really hungry!?!), le Red Tiger. Our four... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
