2023 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Hotel Nelligan's elegant accommodations pair century-old stone walls with a chic, modern decor. Natural light flows through the 44 rooms, 59 suites and 2 penthouses, while stately furnishings and high-end amenities punctuate the ambiance. The hotel perfectly accommodates groups with its expansive ballroom (fits up to 350) and 4 modern conference spaces. In the lobby, a regal, four-story atrium will house the Nelli Café soon. It will be the perfect place for grabbing a coffee, light meal or glass of wine while adjoining Verses Restaurant offers a market-fresh menu. And for a taste of Montreal's mischievous side, Mechant Boeuf serves up delicious cocktails and great music nightly! Room service is also available. Finally, situated atop the elegant property, Terrasse Nelligan delivers unmatched city views! CITQ 180390

I knew from my first phone call to make a reservation that we were going to be well taken care of. Alexia, the chief concierge, made our four night stay amazing. We have never been to Montreal and she as well as the other staff had a wealth of information that suited our tastes. The hotel itself is warm and inviting. Our room was lovely, quiet, amazing bathroom and Le Labo products! We has a junior suite with fireplace, birthday stay. The breakfast was perfect. Every night we ended our day at the rooftop bar for a nightcap. I can't say enough good things about the staff, they made our trip to Montreal exceptional. Thank you, Alexia.

Lovely boutique hotel in great Vieux Montreal location. Lots of nice creature comforts such as great bed and linens, spacious rooms, attentive housekeeping service. We felt welcome from the moment Anthony checked us in. Note: in our 4th floor room, we could hear a constant throbbing noise from the music being played on the 5th floor terrace bar from afternoon till ~ 11:00 pm. It was not enough to mar our stay but we’d likely request a lower floor if we’re lucky enough to return.

See my 1 star review on Yelp. I give—I believe— a thorough review of the hotel’s shortcomings. This is an expensive hotel at $500/night US. At that rate the experience should be nonpareil. It isn’t. So have a look at the Yelp review for a detailed account of my vastly disappointing experience.

My stay at Hotel Nelligan in Montreal was an unforgettable experience. The boutique hotel’s charm and attention to detail left a lasting impression. From the warm welcome at check-in to the beautifully designed room, I felt like a valued guest throughout my stay. The hotel’s location in the heart of Old Montreal made it easy to explore the city’s historic sites and vibrant culture. The rooftop terrace offered breathtaking views of the city skyline, and the on-site restaurant, Verses, served delectable meals. Hotel Nelligan truly exceeded my expectations and added to the magic of my trip to Montreal.

Since we only stayed a few days in Montreal, we went to check out Old Montreal which has this old European Charme. There we had a wonderful lunch at the Hotel. The food and atmosphere were fantastic and our server “Angie” was very attentive and super friendly. It was for sure a highlight for our short stay in Montreal.

Hotel Nelligan was an excellent choice for our stay in Montreal. I can see why it is a traveler favorite. The room was lovely, extremely comfortable. The hotel staff was very welcoming, with a special shout out to Anthony who noticed how hot and tired I was after a long walk in old Montreal and came to the rescue with some cold water. Solene was great too. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotel restaurant. My order was big enough to share with my husband. We parked our car in the hotel garage, and the valet was very prompt and helpful. We took a cab ride to a jazz club and had a lovely night out. There are a number of restaurants in the area, and the hotel gave us some great recommendations. We tried Italian and French cuisine. We also visited art galleries and came home with two small paintings from one gallery, and two carvings from the Images Boreales Inuit gallery. I recommend a visit there even if you are not shopping. We hope to return next year.

Our stay at the Nelligan was delightful, as it has been very time we come to this glorious hotel. The location is ideal, the hotel common rooms and our room were clean and attractive, suffused with old world charm and modern conveniences. The breakfast was ample and delicious, and the staff is outstanding; affable, friendly, and helpful. Among the wonderful staff members we met, were Shalana, Juliette, Andrew, and Jade. We have recommended this hotel to both family and friends. It is a warm haven with all the amenities of a royal palace.
