Disappointed that when we had a problem after complaining to three different staff members including a manager, no one got back to us. We felt we were ignored and no one was really interested in helping us.

Overall - Decor was good, bed was comfortable, linens and towels were excellent. - Twice daily room service was good. - Staff (front desk, bar, restaurant, concierge) were very friendly, attentive and helpful. - Location is central, but if most of what you want to do is in Old Montreal, then stay there. Getting a taxi to that part of town can be time consuming because of the traffic. Picky details: - Tea bags were provided in the room, but nothing to heat water. Had to get a tea kettle sent up. - Coffee pods were not replenished. Had to get room service to sent some up. - Bar closes at 10pm, so don't plan on nightcaps here. - Wireless phone chargers by the bed are a novel idea, but they didn't work. Added Fees: - CA$15 per day "Urban Experience" fee is a mystery to me (and I couldn't find an explanation on Google or any of the travel sites from anyone else who stayed there) and also has state and local taxes added to it.

I am staying in Sofitel Montreal since 2007 usually twice per year (except 2020/21 due to Covid 19), my last trip was August 2023. As always the stay was perfect: the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the room (I had a luxury room with kingsize bed) perfect, the food in the restauran Renoir (I had there breakfast and lunch) was always delicious, and also my dinners in the bar were great (I ate there a Cesar Salad with extra chicken and a Nicoise salad with tuna). Alltogether I had a great time there and I can only recommend it.

I am repeated client of the hotel as Mcgill family.. However this year I should say I am ver much surprised and disappointed by the amatuer reservation staff. Finally ı did not finalize my booking and do not trust this hotel at all. One day they confirm my reservation and the next day I recieve a call to change the room type.. The hotel is being managed like a small bad and breakfast.

The room layout was well thought out. Separate bed reading.lights, blackout curtains, stall shower, makeup light, excellent bed and adequate storage and luggage racks. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Twice daily room service, a luxury- but well worth it the Concierge-was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our breakfast selection and service. Hotel location is downtown with easy access. A truly enjoyable stay.

After reading other reviews for this hotel, I have to put my 2 cents in. First - the restaurant, Renoir. For dinner, they offer things like octopus or salmon with squid ink tiles. We were having a tough time finding something that sounded good. We ended up ordering the special, which was risotto. It was bland but ok. Nothing special. We didn't ask the price. When we got the bill we were stunned. Who pays 50 for risotto??? Granted this is Canadian dollars, so in US dollars it was $37. Each. Our friend ordered the foie gras with brioche, and it was not good. The brioche was even a little burned on the bottom. The next morning we had breakfast at Renoir, which was better, but still not outstanding. The sausage was truly inedible. We had our car valet parked for one night, and that was CAD 45. Plus tax. The room was 479. Plus tax. Then there was the mysterious "Urban Experience Fee", which was 15. Plus tax. I added up all of the taxes on our bill and they came to 135.35, which was 15% of our total bill. So for a one night stay in Montreal, we spent just shy of CAD 900. I don't think we have EVER spent that much for an overnight stay anywhere. It's especially annoying since the meals were so disappointing. The room was fine, but again, nothing special. The closet doors were worn and tatty looking. There was a mini bar with outrageously priced items, such as M&M candies for CAD 9. The redeeming feature of the room was the bath, which was lovely. Nice shower, separate tub, marble floor and walls. I didn't care for the soap/shampoo dispensers, but that's getting to be more common in hotels. If you're planning a visit, bring lots of cash. And be prepared to be taxed on everything multiple times.

We have been staying here regularly for nearly 15 years, but something has changed: There is the air of decay at the edges of this hotel. Fraying fabric on the desk chair; air conditioner vents without covers, so you see all the cables and duct work; one set of cutlery delivered for a meal for two; one chocolate at bedtime, not two; soap pumps instead of individual soaps. It just feels as if they were told to cut costs, and they are doing it. Still a fine hotel with nice people and good food, but charging as if it's the city's best and I don't think it is anymore. You used to feel as if it was expensive but worth it. Now it's either overpriced or else you may get a deal, but you get what you pay for (less for less).

We had an excellent experience at Sofitel Golden Mile. It's in an excellent location, walking distance to 2 metro stops and there's a bus that runs along Sherbrooke (although we didn't use it). The staff at Reception and the concierge were always friendly and very helpful. Our room was wonderful, very clean and had everything we needed. Things I particularly appreciated were the water (in nice cartons, not bottles) they put in the room daily, that they didn't change our towels and the big, comfy bed. We'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel two nights, at the end of our cruise around eastern Canada. It took forever for us to get our luggage, and we ended up going to the lobby and picking it up ourselves. The rooms are nice and big, with fabulous toiletries in the bathroom. We really appreciated the quality of the sheets. Location is wonderful, right on the Golden Mile area. We had group meals of one dinner, and one breakfast, which were so so in quality, and were rather crowded. we had drinks at the bar in the Renoir restaurant, both nights, and really liked the ambience of the bar. Nice staff at the front desk.
