Hotel Faubourg Montreal enjoys praise for its central location, with the convenience of nearby attractions and public transport being a highlight for many guests. However, some have noted that its situation near a bustling street can lead to noise disturbances. The rooms are acknowledged for their spaciousness, yet there are calls for modernization and improved cleanliness. Guests offer varying opinions on the hotel's value, pointing out the costly parking alongside reasonable room rates. Service quality and amenities receive mixed reviews, with some travelers finding the staff commendable and others encountering less satisfactory interactions.

My wife and I, along with our infant son, stayed at this hotel for two nights. We had selected this hotel in advance of our travel, for its reasonable price and central location.

After an all-day drive, we arrived in the evening to find a simple, but clean and comfortable, one bedroom suite. The decor was slightly dated, but most importantly for us there was very little noise or light to disturb our sleep. After a very relaxing night, we went downstairs and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast buffet. Admittedly I was not expecting much from the included buffet, but it far exceeded our expectations and set us up quite well for what turned out to be a somewhat frustrating day at a local embassy (which was the reason for our trip to Montreal).

We had already booked out of this hotel, expecting to leave Montreal that day, but by mid-afternoon we understood that we would need to stay an additional night in Montreal. We looked around online to see if any hotels were available that were closer to the embassy, but given our positive experience from the previous night, we decided to re-book a room at the Hotel Faubourg. Our second night was in a different room, not a suite, however it was also quite pleasant. Once again, the room comfort and wonderful breakfast buffet made it worth the expense.

The location of the hotel near the city centre is excellent. Parking is in a secure, underground lot with quick access to the main lobby. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and pleasant to deal with. Moreover, given the very reasonable prices, we found the quality of the rooms and buffet to be outstanding. Although we do not have any immediate plans to return to Montreal, if we did we would likely not hesitate to again book our stay at the Hotel Faubourg.

Average hotel, it’s cheaper than others, but you get what you pay for. Position is ok (not great; 30 min walk from the true downtown), no housekeeping with covid but you also may have to
make your third bed yourself; breakfast is pick up
only and has ridiculously few options for a hotel (e.g, a muffin or a sausage) and they don’t see a problem in having literally zero gluten free or vegan options - most people are will be better off opting out of breakfast and having a real breakfast somewhere else. The hotel is on the older side and not superclean; beds are ok but also not better than you would have expect from a cheap hotel.

Stayed two nights just after the storm in early Feb 2020, underground parking a little expensive, but essential all the roads were blocked.

It was the night of the Canadiens - Leafs game, everything booked. We booked through the hotel website and not a booking agency. We appreciate and were upgraded to a two bedroom suite. The extra space made the weekend.

The breakfast was filing and convenient and got us going for the day. It was a little weird the space has a kitchenette, but no utensils for cooking,

The facility is a little dated, but well maintained and excellent value.

We were on the 4th floor, super quiet.

We travelled to Montreal in January on a family trip and booked Hotel Faubourg because of the location for downtown Montreal and for value. It certainly gave us everything we wanted. The rooms were very large and we were surprised at the lost cost of our stay especially as the breakfast was included. The staff were efficient and friendly. We really enjoyed staying there.

I was racing in downtown Montréal and wanted a hotel that was close that wouldn’t break the bank. Hôtel Faubourg was exactly that. The kitchenette allowed us to make our own simple meals (no stove, but we brought some small appliances for anything we needed to cook), and the location was perfect. Staff were very friendly and willing to help. Parking is a little pricey, but I appreciated knowing my car was safe underground. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The staff in this hotel, front desk day and evening, were excellent to deal with. Friendly and very, very helpful. Unfortunately we stayed while Covid was still a problem. This resulted in not having housekeeping services daily however we were allowed to pick up clean towels daily as needed. Normally they serve a breakfast buffet but again due to Covid they could not and provided a warm bag breakfast instead which was more then enough to get you going for the day.

I do have two complaints. The kitchenette is really not useful if you are planning to prepare your own dinner. No Stove. There is a microwave and full fridge. My biggest complaint and this is why I do not give 5 stars. The hotel is dated - not really a big deal. The bed is great, pillows are great. The carpet is disgusting. It needs replacing. You wash your feet walk from the bathroom to the bedroom and you need to wash them again.

Overall a good hotel to stay at reasonable price and friendly employees. Very well located for visiting the sights and going to restaurants.

We are in the process of changing laundry company so this doesn't reoccur. We apologizes for the inconvenience that this may have caused you. Our rooms aren't equipped to have a cooktop as we are more of a short term stay hotel. Booked via hotels.com for 85$ a night. VIP members get free parking, a 27$ value per day.

Checked in around 6pm. Efficient and quick.

Room on 8th floor was a nice studio suite with kitchenette, full size fridge, queen bed, decent city view. No plates or cutlery available. Keurig coffee maker with pods. Clean bathroom.

Parking in basement can be a bit tight.

Covid breakfast was very nice, changing everyday, hot items on weekends, with a homemade bagel egg sandwich. Other option was a big Belgian microwavable waffle.

5 minutes walk to Chinatown or to St Catherine street quartier des Spectacles and 10 to old Montreal..

The Hotel Faubourg has the potential to be fabulous. It is in a convenient location. The staff is accommodating and professional. That said, the facility needs some work. It looks like the work was started just not finished. The lobby looks good and the rooms are freshly painted. The WiFi is terrible. The popcorn ceilings and awful carpet in the rooms need to go. Hard surface floors would make everything feel cleaner. The hallways need daily vacuuming and the peeling wallpaper should be removed, it makes the hotel feel run down. The rooms are actually suites-WONDERFUL, but awkwardly set up. Move the beds to the bedroom and the sofa and desk to the living room (nobody feels comfortable sleeping in a kitchen). Small details say volumes. Hang a picture over the fuse box and replace the missing tile in the bathroom. The sign in the kitchen said to dial “O” to reach the front desk, but there was NO PHONE anywhere in the room. This made me feel less than safe during my stay. A few changes would take Hotel Faubourg from a place I would probably not recommend to one I would highly recommend.

Pro: excellent location, excellent staff, nice rooms

Cons: no drop off zone, overworked elevators, no chairs for the kitchenette counter, unsure about value

The location of the hotel is excellent, minutes away from the Quartier de Spectacles. Access is dead easy since it sits right on the René-Lévesque boulevard. Strange enough however there is no drop off zone. Depending on the time of arrival the street in front of a hotel is either a no parking or a no stopping zone. Either way, we are talking about a tow away zone. The reception staff was lightning quick in pointing me to the necessity to move my car asap into the underground garage. I am guessing that a number of tow away events have happened in the past. Parking by the way is par for downtown Montreal at about $22 per day. Note however that special rates that include parking may be a better value. These rates are not available on the usual booking sites but might be available directly on the hotel's Web site.

Staff was nice and helpful.

We mostly liked the room we got, which was a suite with a small living room featuring a couch (possibly a sofa bed, we did not check) and a big bedroom with two large beds. The suite also featured a kitchenette with a breakfast counter... which turned out to be useless because a single chair was provided so we ended up eating on the beds anyway; we did not appreciate that one bit. Our room's view was an inner courtyard, not overly exciting but with plenty of light.

The hotel is pretty big but is served only by two overworked elevators. Expect delays going up and down.

Overall we liked the hotel and we got a fair value for the price paid. The next time we needed to be in Montreal however, the rates for the hotel were rather unreasonable so we ended up staying even closer to the Quartier de Spectacles (right in it actually), in a higher star-level hotel, and for less money. I would say that booking Hotel Faubourg blindly is never a good idea; shop around and compare, and do not hesitate to book if the price is right, but do not hesitate to look elsewhere either if it is not (just don't get towed...).

Dear SS_Que, Thank you for your kind words, Please note, we do have a drop off zone in front of the building. During rush hour, the drop off zone gets overruled by the city as it becomes the bus lane. We are quick to have our guests move their vehicle before they get a $350 ticket. Our priority is not to have them park first and check in afterwards. Our mission is that every guest has a exceptional experience and returns for another stay. Our staff are dedicated in ensuring every guest feels welcome. We used to be a condo building. The owner decided to transform the building into a hotel. Hence, which would explain our large rooms and kitchenette ( Microwave and Fridge)This is one of our assets as if you're coming with family, each member can have their individual space. We look forward in accommodating you in the future. Regards

The property is located in approximately 10 minute drive or about 12 minutes by subway. You can also walk in about half hour. Due to the congestion with parking around the Bell Centre I would highly suggest leaving your vehicle parked at the hotel in underground parking and making your way to the event and back.
