We used to stay in this hotel many times when it was Holiday Inn. We liked it a lot for its location, facilities and friendly staff. Was hopeful it'll be better under new owner, new name....but was sadly disappointed. The clerk who checked us in did the basic. He did not give info on breakfast, parking arrangement or anything else.... More

The hotel is an option that offers a good bed and an older style design hotel. The room has a fair size with a small kitchen, a room with television and a table and a really comfortable bed. The only problem in my humble opinion is that the furniture is old, so if that's not a problem you can get... More

If you are talking about a older downtown hotel, this place wasent too bad. However, it could be so much better with just a little work. I was a bit scared, honestly when I saw the hallways, the carpet was dirty, and it just looked old. When we went in our room I was happy to see a semi-decent room.... More

The best thing about this hotel was the discounted rate we got on a travel website. From the time we walked up and saw the dirty, worn out carpeting out front, I knew this was not a great place. Our room was very big, which was nice. However, the carpeting was very dirty and the shower/tub was very moldy. We... More

We booked this hotel online for the great rate it offered for our stay in Montreal. Plus, the online pictures showed fair sized rooms, and our booking included breakfast so that was definitely a bonus. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by some friendly staff who quickly checked us in. We went up the elevator to our suite,... More

Comfortable beds and the breakfast is all that was good about this place, oh and it has laundry facilities. Stayed for two nights, the air conditioner had two settings - cold or hot. The carpet was heavily stained, they had a full hotel with one lift working that you had to share with the cleaning staff and their trolleys. Noise... More

Hotel is within walking distance to old town. Interior dated - dark carpets and charcoal grey walls. Room is spacious with a kitchenette. Lots of natural light from the big windows. Breakfast okay - noisy and crowded and service was slow. This could be due to large groups staying at hotel.

The only thing in this hotel's favour was its situation - a reasonable number of restaurants within easy walking distance. Apart from that, my room on the 7th floor was more of a suite, with kitchen and sitting area immediately ahead and small bedroom and bathroom to one side. It smelt fusty when I walked in and when I opened... More

This place has it all! From friendly staff to clean rooms and accessibility. Staff are amazing and actually helped us a few times to find places on map. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from downtown core, old Montreal and China town. We didn't even have to use metro or bus during our stay. Jaz festival was taking place... More

This hotel is located two blocks from Chinatown. The hotel needs updating but it is worth the price. Breakfast is substantial and included. Parking is 24$ + tax per night for in/out privilege. I would stay here again

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
