the room was nice, confortable and spacious. The location is also great, with lots of restaurants around. The two things that could improve are: 1) making it easier for people to access the power outlets to be able to charge your devices 2) the kitchen closes very early and you cant order food to the room after that.

This was our first time in a LHotel and enjoyed the experience. Not that easy to find as half of Montreal's roads seemed to have been dug up for construction works so GPS struggled. Hotel room was very well appointed and stylish. We also enjoyed the bar area which was quaint and had lots of objets d'art along with quirky...

I truly love this hotel, small boutique hotel, great service, like staying at your friends house. Everything from the moment you walk in the door is personal. The art collection is amazing and the owner is pretty cool. Met him one night in the bar, down to earth and made you feel you were welcome in his home. Love the...

Stayed for two nights. Hard to miss this hotel as the outside is lavishly decorated and reminds one of the front cover of Sergeant Pepper! Inside is not much different.. Art everywhere! A truly warm and "funky" atmosphere. It is a boutique hotel with 50 odd rooms I believe. The rooms are well equipped, spacious and very modern. Immaculately clean...

I used to live in Montreal for many years and return whenever I can. This is my preferred hotel choice for several reasons: Location: 2 blocks from the convention center and right in Old Montreal. The staff: friendly, laid back, and helpful. The art: lobby is worth a careful look, and every corridor is plastered with interesting modern art. The...

This hotel is located in a transformed bank. They've left the high ceilings and moldings, but have added modern art and sculpture. If you like modern art, you'll love wandering the halls and admiring the original works of art. Bright crisp breakfast room, (only cold selections available). Darling lounge and bar which serves light snacks. Walking distance to Downtown sites....

Our first visit to Montreal and I'll stay here again. The artwork around the hotel by itself is fascinating. The hotel owner's personal jazz and blues music plays in the lobby continuously and while it doesn't bring images of being in Montreal, it is great music. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. A channel guide for the TV would...

My wife and I stayed here for a night while on a road trip to Ontario. It is centrally located in the 'old town' with lots of restaurants and shopping just steps from the hotel. The room was large and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The washroom was very large, clean and modern. Everything worked properly. The staff...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
