LHotel garners mixed reviews, with its prime location in Old Montreal being a highlight for its proximity to attractions and transport. The hotel's artistic decor and ambiance receive acclaim, contributing to a charming and inviting atmosphere. Despite the spacious and comfortable rooms, some guests have called out cleanliness and maintenance issues. Service quality has elicited diverse opinions, ranging from commendations of staff friendliness to frustrations over inadequate amenities. Travelers often find the hotel overpriced, with the value proposition diminished by the lackluster breakfast and service hiccups.

If we could have given this stay 10 stars we would! Easy to find, very convenient parking, friendly adorable place! The artful beauty in every corner was absolutely charming! Our room was very clean, comfy bed and pillows. Quiet enjoyable stay in ever aspect. Walking distance to many shops and cafes. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back!

It is a wonderful hotel located at the heart of the old town section. The staff are all very nice and helpful. The rooms are big and clean. Furniture are a bit old but very comfortable bed. The breakfast items are limited but high quality, especially the croissants. The front steps to get into the hotel then get to the front desk are the drawback. Besides that, it is a great place to stay when visiting Montreal.

THE BAD: A broken pipe resulted in no hot water in winter for the entire hotel. Many guests complained. Manager went home rather than deal with it. After 2 days we changed hotels. Staff refused waiving the 24-hour cancellation notice for third night. So, that night we paid $400 at LHotel (for a vacant room with no hot water), plus $400 at the new hotel. Several other guests were also refused refunds or professional courtesy. THE GOOD: Amazing art hangs from every wall of the hotel. THE UGLY: The hotel has become shabby and poorly maintained. There were a lot of small shortcomings: aging furniture, toilets that wobble, sinks that did not drain, coffee pods that were the wrong size for the coffee maker, a sad breakfast of mediocre croissants and apples. LHotel feels like someone's personal project, which they abandoned long ago to incompetent management.

I love this hotel. It's like sleeping at an Art Museum. I feel happy here. Love the staff. Love the rooms. Great location. My only complaint is that I wish the breakfast had more choices. However the croissants are always warm and fresh. This was my second time visiting.

Great hotel conveniently located in the Old Montreal area. The metro is within close walking distance. Staff is very friendly and informative. The bed was very comfortable. The tall windows let in a lot of light. A lot of great artwork in the hotel. Breakfast is complimentary and the croissants are delicious.

A very comfortable King-size bed, but I was too warm throughout the night due to the thick comforter- even though we turned the heat down to 19°C. Alternative blankets would have been welcome. In the lobby, the staff kept the music at quite a high volume, even when asked to turn down the sound to enable us to read - even though we were the only ones there! I would have preferred a quieter ambiance. The decoration and artwork was eclectic and well done. The exercise room was well equipped. The continental breakfast included eggs and delicious croissants, but no sliced bread for the toaster, and no cheese (or lactise-free milk).

There was NO HOT WATER in the shower for the three days we were there. The water was at best lukewarm and this is unacceptable in a 4 stars hotel! We booked four nights, but on the third day we couldn't take the cold showers anymore and decided to check out early and cut our trip to Montreal short. The management said that there was nothing they could do to fix the issue and they even refused to give us a refund for the night we didn't spend or to give us any type of compensation. We met other guests that had the same problem with the hot water and checked out early like us with no refunds. I am reading other reviews now and apparently this is a common problem when the hotel is at capacity. It is a nice hotel (clean and great location) but I would not return.

Outstanding hotel stay in an amazing city. Lhotel is perfectly situated in Vieux Port - quick hop to Notre Dame and 25 minute walk to Bell Centre. Breakfast starts with fresh croissants whose baking scent wafts through the building. And the day only gets better.

Wonderful place with art scattered everywhere. Smiling staff. Comfy bed, and fluffy bathrobe.... and it's well located! It's a must in Montreal. Only thing, it would have been nice to have a charger in the room since mine were in my car and my car gone with the valet.:)

Comfortable bed. High ceilings. Great location. Breakfast pastries are yummy. Gym not maintained with cleaning supplies. Carpet needs replacing. Strange odour in lobby pervasive. Toiletries are small and need replacement often if there for several days. Staff are helpful and timely. Art everywhere.
