I read reviews on MANY hotels before booking one for our trip! Let's just say we are both very pleased with this small hotel! 1. Location is perfect! We can walk down to the waterfront, Old Town, Downtown.... 2. The room was so nice and huge! Good size bathroom, too. 3. Booked this also because it had a King size... More

Recently spent 4 days with my husband and 2 teenagers. We had 2 rooms, side by side, which worked well for us. Rooms are spacious and have refrigerators, keurigs, and most important to teenagers - free wifi! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They recommended great restaurants for us. Olivier at the bar went out of his way to... More

Stayed a week for the Grand Prix. Great location and quirky. We stayed in a superior room which was great but the main bar and lounge area is tired - odd layout and cluttered. Bar staff great. Lovely buffet breakfast in the mornings with welcoming staff.

LHotel is conveniently located about 2 blocks from the Notre Dame Basilica and a few blocks away from the ports in Old Montreal. We booked an executive suite with a king bed that was on the ground floor. The room was spacious and was at the corner of the building looking at a Mexican restaurant and a parking lot across... Did lots of looking around and wanted to stay in old montreal. We found this special spot the atmosphere was real cool. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. When we arrived in the morning before we could check in they treated us like returning guests. They took our bags and stored them and let us use the parking.... More

Marie at the desk and Jan At the bar. Perfect combo. The Hotel is an art gallery. Every staff member a gem. The front desk and bar staff were very knowledgeable and recommended many things to do and see. They made our stay so enjoyable. They made us feel like friends and guests at the same time. We can't wait... More

The LHotel is in a perfect location for visiting Old Montreal and the surrounding areas. We stayed in a corner room #312, which was extremely large and very clean. The bathroom was also large and will appointed. We will definitely stay here again. Jay & Margaret

We stayed in a suite in this wonderful boutique hotel recently and enjoyed this property immensely! Why? First of all, do you like art? Original pieces of art? Miro, Lichtenstein and others - throughout the hotel and in the rooms. This property owner collects art and obviously displays it in the hotel. How often do you see that? Second, a... More

Could not have picked a better place to stay. Comfortable, spacious rooms with all amenities needed for a traveler. Staff was very helpful, with one exception. We walked everywhere and it was easy to find. Great sleeping here. The first morning we had in the hotel the electricity was cut by workers outside. Staff were prepared with flashlights to get... Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
