This funky and boutique hotel was close to everything we wanted to visit and all mostly in walking distance. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. It made our stopover in Montreal very pleasant.

It was the best choice to stay at L’Hotel during our most recent visit to Montreal. It is located in the heart of historical area of the city, very close to tourists attractions, restaurants and bars, which was also a very important factor for us in choosing our accommodation. The design of hotel is amazing, as well as the furniture and equipments of rooms (surprisingly our bathtub had jacuzzi function too). The professionalism and kindness of staff went above and beyond our expectations. We’ll definitely choose to stay at L’Hotel Montral again.

Hotels are reviewed by many different people. We all have different wants and needs. My wife and I decided to gift ourselves a week in Montreal. Thanks to my choice of hotels and the hotel's manager, Chris, augmented by the loving and smart staff, I looked like a genius to my wife. It's close to everything to visit when walking Montreal. The other five star hotels aren't anywhere near Old Montreal (you need to be here). The hotel's contemporary art is a wonder to behold. The breakfast is kinda pricey but right there and fresh and yummy. Our room was a cream colored, high ceilinged oasis for rest and down time. I even caught a glimpse of a world-famous fashion icon while staying there. Kudos to Chris, Tim, Steph, Juliana, Melanie, housekeeping and the other staff I missed getting their names: You blessed my wife and I when we needed the sweet gift you gave us.

Perfect location to explore beautiful Montreal. Our first encounter prior to arrival was with Stefan who quickly, efficiently, and happily resolved my erroneous double booking. Fortunately for us, he was also there to greet us on arrival and helped us with check in to our suite. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The desk staff was eager to suggest dining recommendations and sightseeing ideas. They warmly welcomed us each time we returned to the hotel from our days of adventure. Kudos to Stefan and Nicole; and also to Timothy who went above and beyond to return an item to us via mail after we were already 150 miles away. We highly recommend L’Hôtel Montréal for your next visit to the city!

I booked this hotel for a two night stay to allow us to do some sightseeing in Montreal before starting our holiday proper. First the good things - the location of the hotel is great as a base for seeing Old Montreal, and the staff were very friendly. Also the eclectic mix and sheer quantity of original artwork create a fairly unique ambience to the hotel. However it appeared to me that expenditure on artwork had been at the expense of staff and routine maintenance. From the front entrance with its worn out red carpet and lobby in desperate need to be redecorated to the bedrooms, it all looked decidedly tired. I’d booked a Premium King Room, at a cost of 789CAD for 2 nights, and it wasn’t worth that. It was small, had a view of a parking lot, and once the bed, wardrobe and dresser had been fitted in, there was hardly any floor space. One of the bedside lights didn’t work, and although there was a capsule style coffee machine, there were no capsules. A request at reception for these elicited the response that they’d run out but if we asked again the next day they might have some! On returning to our room after a day’s sightseeing, we were disappointed to find that the room was as we’d left it - the bed unmade, damp towels in the bath, etc. We hadn’t seen the small sign at reception advising guests to specifically request if they required their room to be serviced. This was not a cheap stay in some kind of hostel, and I felt this was pretty appalling for what it cost. We didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel - having read the reviews of this and considered the additional 25CAD each we decided to go elsewhere. It was a shame really - this could be an outstanding hotel, but it falls so far short of this.

Enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed all the visual art works. Positives: Friendly and helpful staff. Handled all difficulties we had quickly with concern and empathy. (Thanks Stephan) Nice room (double queen) on third floor had comfortable beds and furnishings. High ceilings. Serviced our room when requested, and that service was excellent. Bath has moderate and silent venting. Very good shower and controls. Everything was clean. Very nice and simple blackout curtains. Lobby has seating out of traffic that is a comfortable place to hang out and relax. Internet connection worked well and reliably. Other guests tended to be quiet and courteous. Wonderful modern art collection to look at where ever you go. Lots of places near by for breakfast. Negatives: The carpeting in room had stains, and probably should be replaced. Hot water control on sink was a bit wobbly, but functional. Finding convenient outlets for phone charges was a bit of a challenge for 3 people, but we came prepared with a short multi outlet extension cord. Skipped the $25 Continental Breakfast. Well it's a nice breakfast room to take a look at. Not sure who uses it. Plenty of places near by to get a good inexpensive breakfast, so not a problem.

I booked this place inspired by the reviews of the great location, the eclectic art, and the notes of great and well appointed rooms. The location and art did not disappoint, but the accommodations themselves were very underwhelming. The room was dated and dark; the shower barely squeaked out any water - making it challenging to even get soap off; the television was broken; the WiFi was really inconsistent. It also just didn't feel like an inviting space to spend any time in. For what we paid and what was named as being an 'upgrade', I was very disappointed. Just a note that we did really appreciate the bellhop's warm and welcoming demeanor - one staff highlight.

Loved this cool boutique hotel right at the doorstep of Old Montreal and other main hubs if you’re visiting for leisure. We literally walked everywhere for the three days we stayed after they kindly valet parked our car. The interior is funky, vintage chic with loads of art as eye candy displayed throughout. Our premier king suite had gorgeous high ceilings and old world charm, as well as being pin neat and clean. The staff from front reception to resident bar keep and the attentive host who raced ahead to open the door for us after we checked out, were all accommodating and gracious. We would definitely book a stay again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Lhotel for my birthday. The hotel room is beautifully decorated with a lot of space. We booked this hotel because the room had a tub; after a long road trip and a planned massage, a long soak would be divine. We were disappointed because the room did not have a tub. We shared our disappointment with the front desk staff, and he explained that we had a steam shower— we were pleased. When I tried the shower, the shower knobs fell off—the overhead rain shower worked, and that was it; nothing else in the steam shower worked. We reported this to the front desk early Saturday morning, and they asked if we wanted to move rooms. Unfortunately, we heard nothing about the moving of rooms again until Sunday, when the key stopped working; the staff at the front desk told us that we were in a different room. My boyfriend explained to the staff that this was not communicated to us. Overall, visually the room was lovely; however, much more attention needs to be given to the room— the fact that the main feature of the shower did not work is a problem. Also, when I opened the hatch to store some items, the handle fell off. That room should not be given to guests! Much more attention needs to be given to the functionality of the room. We were disappointed because the room was falling apart, and we received poor service!
