Location in the center of the city. Walking distance to the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal and waterfront. Only walk 5 mins to metro station. Good decoration in the hotel and staff are very helpful and friendly.

Our booking had been cancelled which was not a problem as there was availability, although the room we did get had a very dirty and stained carpet . As well the view was of an unfortunate homeless young man sleeping each day across from our room. We still enjoyed the hotel though and loved Montreal but was a trifle disappointed... More

High ceilings, comfortable beds and linens, terrific service, great location, interesting owner, and the finest Private modern art Collection you will ever experience in any private hotel. Only stayed one night but definitely will go back again.

It’s somewhat hard to describe this hotel. It a combination of boutique, eclectic and fun. The hotel is independently owned, and not associated with any of the large chains. This is probably a significant factor in its very comfortable, fun, and enjoyable vibe. A welcome difference from that sterile feel of larger chains. A hallmark of this hotel is the... More

It was a very nice hotel! Very nice large rooms with plenty of space. Check in was very quick and reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable! Breakfast was good but I thought it was a little overpriced for what was offered! Bar staff were great and made good cocktails and it was a very nice atmosphere and quite relaxing!

We have just returned from a, all to short, trip to Montreal. We chose the LHotel based on research and TripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel is conveniently located in Vieux Montreal, a few blocks from Notre-Dame Basilica, most tourist attractions and great restaurants. Our room was lovely and comfortable but the bathroom could use additional shelf space.... More

The art in the public spaces was interesting, less so in our room. But the décor both in the room and reception is a real mish mash and not particularly stylish. It was a comfortable hotel, reasonably priced but wouldn't stay there again.

I stayed at the hotel for one night with my boyfriend. Big and nice room, super quiet, location is perfect and staff is great. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Very nice art pieces everywhere in the hotel.

This is small hotel in Old Montreal. It's clean and comfortable and close to shopping and restaurants but only has a breakfast facility and a bar. When I arrived there I had to double park and walk in to ask someone to valet my car. They need to improve that for sure. It's a little overpriced for what you get.... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
