Had the opportunity to stay in this hotel on a recent trip to Montreal. From the time you arrive to the time you leave the service is excellent, unobtrusive and consistent. I was upgraded to a junior suite which was appreciated, and found the room to be beautifully appointed, well fitted and the bed and linens of the highest quality.... More

An old fashioned small hotel near the "old town." Unfortunately construction scaffolding obscures its entrance and we passed by three times trying go find it! The staff are friendly and professional. Good dining and room service was better than adequate. Nota bad choice if you want go be near old Montreal.

We were offered a Sunday brunch to the St.James by a family member for our 35th anniversary. Expecting a buffet style we were pleasantly surprised by our choice of a 5 course offering. The food was amazing and presentation was 5 star.To our delight the portions were fair size and the taste tingled our taste buds.I was told they have... More

Spectacular hotel with high end classical furnishing. Location is steps away from the convention center and around 200 meters from the main shopping street. Staff are outstanding and very helpful . Well, we had high hopes for this place and thought that at $550 a night we would have a great experience. We've stayed at hotels around the world at less cost with much more charm, better service and that have been better appointed. No coffee or tea in the room, no tub, a pretty crappy tv system that wants $35... More

This is a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. There were three minor issues. Clogged sink, hair dryer in op and the concept of a large key that you drop off at reception every time you came and go, well that is passé. At one point we returned to the hotel and there was a line at reception. We had... More

Hotel deserves the TripAdvisor awards (and other awards) it has received. Luxury hotel experience up and down in an old Montreal bank building with elegance and orate, private feel. Front desk gets to know your name, and staff try to do the same. Doormen are professional and attentive. Room amenities are some of the best in class, from bathroom soaps... More

Recently I had the pleasure of staying three nights at the lovely Hotel Le St.-James, located in the historic old town section of Montreal. This boutique hotel has an old world elegance, yet was... More

Gracious old style hotel, beautifully decorated, large rooms and just the most superb staff to make your stay enjoyable. I honest think it's a better hotel than my rating but I base the rating on my personal experience. This is a beautiful, elegant hotel. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the staff very helpful. It felt like we had gone back in time to an elegant era. Very convenient and we walked everywhere. A perfect place for some quiet luxury yet convenient to Old Montreal. Definitely upscale but worth at least one night on a Montreal trip.

Staying in Quartier International

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention center and retail space with a multi-colored glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterize the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
