Its prime location is a hit for those keen to explore the city on foot, despite some mentioning the rooms' prices as steep.

One of the best experiences in Old Montreal. Large and well appointed suites with lots of privacy and great views of Old Montreal. Amazing location beside the Notre Dame Basilica and St Paul street. Great staff, personal and very accommodating and friendly. Superb start to the year.

A wonderful place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful they open doors for us ingredients as we came and left at their suggestion they cleaned our room when we were out with the dog. Excellent location right behind the cathedral

We stayed for a week with our little dog in August and had a wonderful experience. It is hard to find a nice hotel that is pet friendly and the staff at the Saint-Suplice made us feel completely welcome. Our dog probably ate three bags of the dog treats that they gave us! The room was very comfortable, quiet, fully-equipped and spacious. The location cannot be beat as you are in the heart of the Old Port district and walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars, spas, shops and sights. It felt very safe as well when I was walking the dog alone early in the morning. You are also two blocks to the Metro which takes you anywhere you want to go in the city.
We recommend using the valet service for your car if you bring one. It is not really more expensive than parking on your own and it is WAY LESS of a pain in the butt in the tiny little streets in that area of town.
The service was fantastic all around. The concierges, front desk, valets and bellmen were all so kind and helpful. They made dinner reservations for us, responded quickly to housekeeping requests and always had our car ready when we called down ahead of time. Special thanks to the housekeepers who somehow were always able to clean our room during the couple of hours we took our "Dog in Room" sign off the door during the day! We would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if they have a pet!

This is a nice hotel with very spacious rooms. Our room had lots of great touches including a pretty usable kitchenette (microwave, stovetop) and Nespresso machine. Also the location is excellent in close proximity to many great attractions. A stone’s throw from the science centre which my son loved. I saw two rooms and so can say in one the furniture was a bit worn, but in the other it was not.
Main reason for lower review was lack of good service when the deadbolt on our door did not work. My young son and I checked in late after a delayed train (about 10pm). Soon after we got to the room, I noticed the deadbolt wasn’t closing properly. Called front desk. They did quickly send someone to look at it. He spent about a half hour trying to fix it. To my mind, an effort should have been made right away to move us rather than make me wait for that long with a young child who needed to get to bed.
When the lock couldn’t be fixed, I called the front desk and was told that if the guy they sent couldn’t repair the lock, there would be no one else who could look at it until morning. It was only when I suggested moving rooms that the front desk even looked to see if there was another room available. There were rooms available (plenty, it appeared to me from an online search). A supervisor came up to move us. She wasn’t terribly apologetic and seemed to suggest that it would be alright to stay in the room even though the deadbolt didn’t work because some other parts of the lock mechanism were working (eg the security latch). As a woman travelling alone with a young child shouldn’t I just get to have a room where the whole lock works as it is supposed to??
Ultimately out final room was fine, but we experienced about an hour delay and had to move rooms. Honestly, I would have expected to be moved much more quickly (and not to have to ask for it). I would have expected some kind of apology for the inconvenience. And in most hotels of this rating, I would have expected some type of gesture for the inconvenience (like an upgrade or some type of complimentary food/drink). I got none of this. Indeed, I initially thought they had at least comped me a Diet Coke because I had asked the supervisor where I could get one, she told me the front desk, but before I could go down someone nicely brought me one to my room. But no, they charged me $2.50 for the Coke at check-out.
Overall, the hotel was fine but service was underwhelming.

Great hotel right in a perfect part of Old Montreal. Excellent, friendly and attentive staff. Even during Covid restrictions, the hotel staff were great at supplying us everything we needed, wiping down our vehicle when we called for it. Room was very comfortable and had everything required to make quick meals or use for dining in when we ordered.

We spent four days over Christmas in a suite at this hotel, which is perfectly located in the "old city" of Montreal. It is steps from the Notre-Dame Basilica, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It also is steps away from many wonderful restaurants. The hotel was clean, the people were friendly, our room was wonderful and the service provided by staff and cleaning were excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel. As a family of four, we were very comfortable in our "mini" suite, which included a useable kitchenette, allowing us to eat some meals in our room (which was nice and amounted to some cost-savings).

My room on the 4th floor exceeded my expectations! I loved the privacy and quiet of the sleeping room, which was walled off from the rest of the suite. The bathroom was very upscale and included a lighted makeup mirror, which I always appreciate.
The kitchen was VERY well equipped, even including silverware and cooking pots.
All staff that I interacted with were kind and patient with my awkward French!
I enjoyed the takeaway breakfast of flaky croissant, fruit, cheese and sliced ham each morning.
I would definitely stay at the Saint Sulpice again!

The perfect stay! Concierge, Adrianne and Jennifer we so hopeful, finding us local spots to visit, getting us tickets and transportation to having the sofa bed turned down for our arrival, very professional and welcoming service. We found ourselves running late for the Notre Dame light show so we ate at the Hotel restaurant expecting subpar hotel food, not so! I had duck confit grilled cheese which was amazing, we also had the cheese and meat plate, so delicious and so much for the money, these were appetizers but so much food we did not eat dinner and we got to eat in front of the fireplace. The entire hotel was very clean, especially our room, kudos to housekeeping!

Hotel St, Sulpice, located right in the heart of old Montreal is a wonderful location for seeing the attractions of the city and had good restaurants within easy walking distance. Our room was very ample with a lovely small balcony overlooking the garden courtyard from the sixth floor. Ideal. The room is so large it is actually a bit awkward, but still very attractive. We stayed three nights. When we first arrived the front desk explained that due to covid that regular housekeeping was optional but if we opted into the green program we could still get some clean towels. On the second day, I thought some minimal cleaning and towel change would be nice, but this was no longer on offer apparently. At times the front desk seemed rather unfriendly on the weekend we arrived, although they were very nice on checkout. In retrospect I would not have opted for no housekeeping if I had understood how it worked. Three days is too long to go without when you are in a hotel.

Dear TripAdvisor user, Thank you so much for the positive rating. We apologize about the confusion for the green program. We started this program to save our water consumption and chemichal products use. The full cleaning is not done during the stay, but we can always do a small refresh. Meaning you can ask for new towels and new toiletries or empty the trash as well. We apologize if the new towels weren't delivered as promised. I hope this explanation is more clear, and we thank you for telling us. That way, we will make sure to explain it better next time. We're looking forward to your next visit to the Saint-Sulpice Hotel! Sincerely, Anaïs-Front Desk Supervisor

It’s a very short walk although we took a cab there from our cruise ship because of our luggage. It’s a great location, just one block from the Notre Dame Basilica.and several excellent restaurants within easy walking distance.
Hmmm, I don’t know because we always search for a King bed. Our king was not two twins pushed together but they may have those. I think you’d have to ask directly. The location is excellent if it works for you. Just fyi, we had breakfasts at the Hotel Nelligan right around the corner ( restaurant is Nelli) . It was very charming and I just checked and they have rooms with two double beds- don’t know about pricing.
We had a queen size bed with a Murphy bed in the other room for our teenage grandkid. We didn't ask about twin beds. Sorry. Folks at the desk are easy to talk with, so just give them a call.
We stayed at the hotel in the third and fourth week of October, and we did not see any renovations.
Hello LauraJean,
Breakfast is generally not included in the room rate. The few exceptions are when you reserve a special package, such as the Absolute Wellness or the Epicurean Package. These package rates do include continental breakfast.
