Nestled in an original Beaux-Arts building in the historic quarter of Old Montreal, the St Paul opened in 2001 as Canada’s first ever boutique hotel. The 119-room property, designed by Montreal-based design firm Borrallo Interiors offers a timeless blend of past and present, and an innovative design that maintains the integrity of the building’s original architecture. Bold juxtapositions of colour and texture heighten the senses and transport guests on a visual journey throughout their stay. Masculine elements like straight cuts and strong lines collide with feminine expressions found in the fashion-inspired fabrics to create a soothing paradox. In addition to providing our guests with an outstanding location, service and amenities, we are committed to environmental sustainability and engaged in local sourcing. - Energy conservation program - Waste reduction - Sustainable sourcing - Water conservation. Nice hotel. Thermostats are not controlled in room, that took a night of being uncomfortable to ask about. WiFi quit working for me precisely after 24 hours. Front desk staff could not help fix the issue.

This was our first time at the St. Paul hotel and overall we really enjoyed it. The hotel staff was very helpful and had a great attitude. We had a one bedroom suite that was a little dated in terms of decor but overall very spacious and comfortable. The location of the hotel is also amazing for easy access to the old city. I'm not giving a five star review because there were some unthoughtful features of the hotel room that I really felt could be improved. 1) We were only given two large towels upon and had to call to request more. 2) The shower has no door so you have to tilt the rainfall shower head away from the entrance to the shower and even then the floor still gets very wet. 3) There are no great places to hang a used towel except the two hooks on the wall used for the (very comfy) shower robes. 4) The hotel bathroom still uses single use plastic bottles for soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. It would be nice to see a more modern and earth friendly option. 5) One side of the bed has no access to an outlet for charging devices. 6) Upon arrival, we were only give three hangers between the two closets in our room. 7) The TVs were very small and dated. The TV in the bedroom must have been at least 20 years old. I realize the point of vacation is not to watch TV but it would have been nice to have a newer and larger TV for downtime in the evenings. It seems like these items would be an easy fix to resolve.

This "luxury" hotel has not much to offer other than its location. Rooms are specious, but lack in comfort. Same thing for the bathroom. Rooms feature large, high tubs that may be challenging for certain people to get into. Shower heads are troublesome as they are places too low to enjoy washing your hair without having to pull a Matrix move back – just to get your hair wet. Overall, this boutique hotel does not deserve its luxury price point, as other Marriott brands offer better value and comfort.

We stayed at the St-Paul Hotel during Easter weekend. We were delighted by everything the place has to offer. They went beyond to make my family of 5 comfortable. I don’t post much but I figured that this stay was worth it. Breakfast was great. Amazing coffee. Kids loved the pastries. Rooms were cozy, clean and beds were comfortable. We had a suite with a kind and a room wit 2 queens. Above all location is amazing. Right beside some of the best restaurants of the city and near downtown which was a 5 minute walk. Their restaurant @Pol was not too shabby either! Bang for dollars is probably among my top lifetime.

Since we arrived we were surprised by the look and style of the hotel, including the room. Very warm and stylish modern design. The service was very attentive and fast and they were available any time of the day. One of the highlights was their bar P.O.L. in the hotel. It has a very distinct decor with artworks around and the drinks were excellent and the food was top notch. The whole vibe of the hotel is very unique and so it made our experience! The location can't be better! Galleries, museums and restaurant at walking distance. Also loved how close to the Old Port it is! I totally recommend it
