No guaranteed parking. There were a couple of spots on the street that were full when we got there around 2pm. There was a 24 hour parking place a bit further down the street, for 10$ but the spots were also very limited. We had to wait in the car for someone to leave. We read the reviews about bed... More

We tried this hotel booked it with Booking.com during jazz festival. The only positive is the location. Otherwise we were given a small dusty old room with stains and wet spots on the ceiling. We were told there are better and larger rooms and saw one but had no access to it. The breakfast was minimal.

This is a budget hotel three blocks from Place de Arts. Our room was clean and service all around was good. Bed linens were fine. Breakfast is you typical lousy continental breakfast with crappy coffee but there are 100s of cafes in Montreal so why even consider eating here. You can't beat the price or location. My suggestion is to... More

If someone in a good mental health is going to choose this hotel, then bring your own bed linen, your own breakfast and something to seal the doors. Smoke from the weed will be in your room instantly. Noise is permanent. There is no car parking, this is deception. Staff tries to teach you good manners. Double bed is good... More

The best parts of this hotel are its affordability and central location. But for people who have serious issues with dust mites and bed bugs, stay away from Hotel des Arts. It does not help that front desk personnel are slow to act on these health matters. Despite early requests, housekeeping failed to show up for cleaning. I had to... More

God awful! Wall paper in hallways peeling off, carpets dirty and full of cigarette burn holes. Great location, but the place is creepy. Desk person not friendly. Just don't stay here. Not worth the money and might make your trip, even a short one, substantially less nice.

It is the worst hotel that I ever saw. It have been my worst vacations because of this hotel. unfortunately the reservation was of "non cancellation". Completely dirty (bathroon, breakfast room) and the very bad service.

Very nice location, but parking is 3 blocks away and cost 10 dollars for 24 hr if you are lucky and 24 dollars if there are no cheap spaces left. Room was nice, big and clean, no weird smells or anything like that. Comfortable bed, air conditioning. Service though.... really slow. It took us 40 minutes to check in. And... More

I stayed there for the Victoria Day long weekend and I hope I had not! The reception was not helpful, he gave us a parking address without explaining that we could only park on certain spots (and all the signs are in French so we couldn't figure it out). Our car was towed and our friends cars plus many other... More

I wasn't sure what to expect based on reviews but for the price I really can't complain. It's a very good budget hotel in a great location with many places close by. My room was very clean and the bed was comfy. The staff were very friendly and helped me find good places to eat and good attractions to visit.... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
