Our room and ensuite were as luxurious, comfortable and well-designed as any 5-1/2 star hotel – and at half the price! Carole's four-course(!) breakfasts (never the same two days in a row) were spectacular and Francois' service at the table was impeccable. Location was very central – even the old port area was only 45 minutes' walk away. Free wifi... More

we really enjoyed staying here, close to downtown and very convenient. the breakfast was amazing and our hosts charming. I would have given the accommodation five stars but I did not like the fact there was no door to the bathroom. we were in the Japponaise room Maybe the others have a door to close off the bathroom from the... Clean, well-thought out and nicely appointed B&B. Carolle and Francois, the proprietors, are kind, friendly and helpful. Carolle makes a delicious four-course (!!) breakfast -- homemade, organic and/or locally sourced. Even their coffee is fair trade, organic and superb. However, and I really am loath to write anything negative, but I think it needs to be pointed out that the... More

Carolle and Francois work very hard to make Au Coeur Urbain a great place to stay in Montreal and I enjoyed it even more the second time around this time staying in the Japanese Style room, which has a bed close to the floor (enjoyable). The breakfasts are delightfully tasty with lots of local and organic ingredients. The whole building... More

It was the F1 weekend, and all the hotels downtown were insanely high. Thank goodness this was the case, or I would not have had this wonderful experience at Au Coeur Urbain. Gracious hosts, clean rooms, comfortable bed, complete bathroom amenities and delicious breakfasts featuring Quebec products such as cheese, artesenal bread, etc. Easy (downhill) access to downtown area. Just... More

This is a truly wonderful B&B in every way! Fabulous breakfast, immaculately clean, excellent linens and comfortable beds. Very centrally located, yet quiet. The owners are lovely people! Would definitely come back again.

We had three nights staying at this charming guest house run by Carolle and Francois. It's spotless, beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming. Carolle prepares a great breakfast using organic, locally-sourced produce, and Francois serves the food. Each day they offered us something different. There is no menu. It's a magically mystery tour of culinary delights. Every mouthful is delicious. My... More

The proprietors Carolle and Francois are very friendly and most hospitable. They were always willing to answer our questions, but never intrusive. They helped us with the map, suggested interesting sights for us to visit, and recommended 2 restaurants within easy walking distance, both of which were superb. Our room was well-appointed, with a very comfortable queen bed and a... More

Chose this lovely B&B for a 3 night holiday. Location great for walking to galleries & museums for us. Hosts charming & friendly. Room bathroom & bed all great, but a little traffic noise in the morning. Breakfast room wonderful, featuring local Quebec choices, but I would have liked more options.

Stayed here in late September for 3 nights. Probably the nicest B&B we've stayed in anywhere! Warm, clean rooms, fantastic original breakfasts each morning, but most importantly, a warm friendly welcome from hosts Francois and Carroll. Au Coeur Urbain is within walking distance of downtown and restaurants. if you're coming by car some car parking spaces are available on request... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
