In the heart of the downtown. Deceiving from the outside. Rooms are very clean and modern. Staff is over the top. Parking is easy. Continental breakfast is typical, delicious fresh baked goods. Restaurant in hotel is excellent.

My husband booked this hotel for our weekend stay in Montreal. It is a bit funky -- but in a good way. Apparently the hipsters are fans, I'm not sure I really loved the "grass" carpet and stump side table, but good effort. The room was very large and clean, though we were supposedly upgraded to a suite, I'm not...

A modern hotel at the heart of Montreal. We got there midnight. Didn't know they don't have a underground parking lot. We were shocked that we had to park underground next door building. Then our room was ver small. With a strange washroom 2 stairs up the floor. We told the front desk the next day. She was very nice...

Great boutique hotel hidden just south of de Maisonneuve on Drummond in downtown Montreal. Friendly front desk staff and great continental breakfast with freshly baked croissants, pain au chocolat and tartines with jams (all made in-house, we were told) and excellent coffee. Comfortable beds.the only negative was restaurant music for music baseline penetrating to our room during the day. Nights...

We tried out this "boutique hotel" and were pleasantly surprised! The room was very large (and it was one of the smallest according to the floor plan). The bathroom was also large & modern with a very large shower. It was a very comfortable room, incl. King bed. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of downtown, with a...

Stayed here for one night, no parking, horrible view, no gym ( just 3 stationary bikes) continental breakfast is just bread and tea/coffee. Everyone here was equally as disappointed. I will not be coming back.

Loved this hotel. Extremely clean, very comfortable beds, quiet, large screen TV, massive sized bathroom with a very modern shower and the usual room amenities. Great downtown location; we were attending an event at the Bell Center which was within walking distance. Parking garage available. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.Would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Chez Swann. Key notes: 1. Hotel is centrally-located. Rue Catherine is only a few blocks away (main commercial road). Crescent St is chock full of restaurants and bars, again, just a few blocks away. Mont Royal is only a 30-minute walk away, as well as Vieux Montreal. The closest Metro Station is Peel Street....

We loved our one night stay in this swanky place. We had a very large room with comfortable beds, a huge bathroom with a stylish shower for two. This is the perfect place for a night of concert in Montreal! The only downside is that our 'windows' gave view of the lobby so no direct outside light.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
