Although the hotel is well-located and has been updated, I didn't appreciate there were no safety features in the shower/tub. Also, didn't appreciate the group of smokers often outside the front door.

The hotel is old and requires updating. Rooms are large and clean. Rooms facing the front have a lot of road noise. However, for the price paid you can get better alternatives in Montreal. Won’t return.

The positive... It was clean. The cleaning agents they use though at eso powerful I had a headache most of my visit. I travel for work and spend a fair bit of time in my room in the evenings catching up on emails and the rooms were depressing and smelt so strong that it wasn't enjoyable to do that. The air conditioners as other travellers have mentioned is incredibly loud when it turns on... You are not able to unplug it or adjust it. The staff were uninterested in being pleasant. Like I said I travel a lot and it's nice to arrive somewhere and feel welcome. The parking garage door is supposed to read your license plate to gain access.... Evey time I wanted to come or go I had to call the hotel to open the gate as it wasn't working. The sound control in the hotel is terrible so don't expect to sleep until the place settles down around midnight even during weekdays. I was woken up with calls to my room in the middle of the night.... A drunk man in thr hallway pounding on a door and yelling at 4am and when I finally decided to check out at 5am there was a man in the hallway eating off of a food trolley that was left by other guests. I travel as a single female and my safety and comfort are important... I didn't feel either were under control at this property. There are articles and news reports I have since read that claim the government subsidised short and long term residence here for people requiring medical care. If this is infact the case... The hotel should make this clear and should not be recommended on trip advisor. I'm in no way high maintenance... I've travelled the world but the misrepresentation of this hotel is unfair. Travellers... Book somewhere else.

The location is great and the staff friendly and helpful. Dated rooms and lobby. The AC was super noisy which had to be turned off. The room doesn’t come with a lot of electric sockets, so had to unplug the microwave and tea maker to charge my phone and camera. The own parking garage is very overpriced. Noise level is high due to construction next door and police station across the street.

This property has been around for quite a while, the latest management has spruced it up quite a bit. I didn't eat at the restaurant on the premises, but I hear it's good and moderately priced. Lobby and meeting rooms nicely decorated.
