We spent two night in this hotel during our trip to Québec. The building is very well maintained. It doesn't look like "old" but more "vintage" and we liked it a lot. Staff is extremely kind in providing information on the city. A continental breakfast is included in the rate, and coffee and tea are always available for guests in... More

I loved my first stay here so much, I booked my next vacation around the dates they had a room available so I could stay there again. Lovingly restored Victorian interior with charming touches everywhere. Rooms are smallish but comfortable and tastefully decorated, with bright bay windows, lots of light, hardwood floors, and best of all,no kitschy touches. A few... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights in June. The owner Laurier couldn't have been nicer. He had oodles of patience as he showed us places of interest on the map, and seemed to be quite a deft hand in the kitchen as well. Our room was clean and cosy and the entire house was absolutely gorgeous.

I was very impressed with how informative Fredrick was upon our arrival. Rooms are small and awkward, but this is to be expected with an older hotel. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast began at 8am. This is later than we would have prefer, as we checked out earlier our last morning. I loved the bread, cheese, egg, granola... More

We booked this hotel based on excellent Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. The location was perfect. As people who like to walk, we were within a reasonable walking distance from the Old Port and Old Montreal (half an hour to 45 minutes). Located between St. Denis and St. Laurent, we could quickly walk to interesting shopping and restaurants.... More

I booked this hotel without a high expectation. I was only there to attend a tour in McGill, and wanted a place that's affordable and close enough to the university. But this hotel really surprised me in a good way. The location is excellent, easy to find and close to McGill and bus stations. The staff are friendly and provided... More

Nice hotel in old stone house. Close to St. Denis and St. Laurent shopping and entertainment. Comfortable and clean. Beautiful old woodwork in lobby and breakfast area. Just happened to book a room last minute online. What a nice surprise. Unfortunately I had to leave quite early and missed out on breakfast. Sounds like I missed a good one.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the European breakfast. Croissants, various delicious breads, egg, fruit, juice and coffee. There were other items available as well. It was great! Really enjoyed staying here and walking distance to various places.

Nicely located (although closest metro station is at 7-8 minutes walk), beautifully decorated, super clean, good service... Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
