Very nice stay with Anne in au Gitann. She runs a tight ship and keeps a meticulous house. Also she is so friendly and helpful. A very comfortable stay, even with a shared bathroom - turned out to be no problem. The place is centrally located for enjoying Montreal on foot or by metro. We enjoy the uniqueness of bed... More

Located on a quaint and quiet street, minutes away from UAM/Berri Metro Stop & Bus Terminal, even closer, Anne's B & B, is centrally located and maximally comfortable. A great and kind host, Anne cheerfully and committedly strives to make each guest feel taken care of from a community (family style) breakfast to mapping out any guest's requests for the... More

I flew to Montreal last minute to be with my daughter who went into emergency medical care from her school field trip. We were lucky enough to find Au GiAnn B&B, after our daughter got discharged from her surgery. It couldn't have worked better for our situation. I felt safe to leave her "home" alone, while I went out to... More

Montreal is a wonderful town.. Many festivals and many events. If your thinking of visiting Anne has a wonderful home and is a gracious host. She offers a wonderful breakfast. She is extremely helpful regarding all the events that are taking place. The home is beautiful, clean and quiet. I know the next time I come to Montreal I'll try... More

Anne was an amazing chef, very friendly and helpful. We loved our little balcony where we shared a glass of wine each evening. We were walking distance to all of the major sites. We took the metro a few times and the very convenient 747 bus to and from the airport. I would highly recommend this B & B for... More

We were on our way somewhere else and stopped in Montreal for a few days and nights. The room was terrific, with a balcony, and afforded the use of a small kitchen down the hall. There was a market not far away and we shopped there for cheese and bread. Anne, the hostess, was VERY helpful with everything, including moving... More

Stayed for 4 days and 3 nights on an extended weekend get away. Had a wonderful visit. The room was clean and cozy as was the shared bathroom. In addition, there was a convenient kitchenette upstairs near our room for our use. The breakfasts were wonderful and vegetarian-friendly but be mindful to mention any dietary needs in advanced. Ann, our... More

Anne was extremely helpful and welcoming. We traveled with our toddler to Montreal for 4 nights. Unfortunately, I read so many reviews but no one mentioned how much the rooms smelled (thoroughly) of smoke! While the rooms are advertised as non-smoking, there was so much smoke that had happened (and possibly does in the other private areas of the home)... More

This was our second visit to Montreal. Summary as follows: Hostess/Innkeeper: A++. Anne makes you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. My wife and I traveled with our two year old daughter and she went out of her way to interact and talk with her. She is familiar with all the usual tourist spots to visit as... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
