We 2 Senior couples rented the 3rd floor family suite, both rooms with large private baths & a door separating the rooms for privacy. On our arrival, the young man at the desk assisted us with our larger bags which was much appreciated & we never had the opportunity to thank him. Both rooms were large, beds comfortable & WiFi...

What a great place! We were disappointed to only be able to stay two nights in this unique B&B, we would have loved to stay longer. We booked the family suite for the 4 of us, two separate rooms with two separate entrances (3rd floor walk up). The artwork throughout the place is colorful and unique, which brought a look...

We stayed only one night in transit to Quebec City. We could have stayed longer. We booked a budget room but received an upgrade to a bigger (and very good) room. Small bathroom. The location is good as it is adjacent to a Metro station and thus has good access to other places. The Metro is easy to use and...

Although this hotel is a bit secluded, the location is perfect. A block from a central metro and easy walk to most downtown locations. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and the staff is friendly. Great breakfast and access to kitchens for coffee, liqueur and cookies. Highly recommended.

We called at the spur of the moment on a Friday before a long weekend. We took what we could and were pleasantly surprised by the quaint little room. The decorating was interesting, in a good way. The bathroom was quite 'European' - that is very small, but functional and clean. The breakfasts were fabulous, as were the staff that...

Our room was up a flight of stairs and spacious. I had to call and ask for assistance for turning on the air conditioning as all the windows were closed and the room was stuffy. Sometime in the middle of the night it became evident to me why the windows were closed as I was awakened by the train whistle...

My husband and I stayed here for four nights as a romantic weekend away. We stayed in a room on the third floor, which was quiet and charmingly decorated, with a wonderful hot tub for two. The hotel is made up of older renovated homes and is definitely a "walk up." One disadvantage is that the hotel is right across...

This wonderful bed and breakfast is amazing. We rented the 2-room family suite. The rooms are big and the beds so comfortable. There is a huge bathroom with whirlpool bath in each room, and one room has a small terrace. It is beautifully appointed and kept immaculately clean. The breakfasts are so delicious and bountiful, we didn't even need another...

We stayed here for 2 nights in June at the beginning of our Canada trip. The B&B is located very conveniently in walking distance to shops and restaurants as well as right next to the subway station that connects you to Old Montreal. The room (702) was nicely decorated, but it was pretty small, a little bit cold (unfortunately it...

We stayed at Petite Auberge Les Bons Matins at the beginning and end of our trip to Canada and had a positive experience both times. Our first room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, although the bed was squeaky. On our second stay we were told that our room had been upgraded for free, and we ended up in a gorgeous,...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
