I stayed here for a few days in August and this hotel was so great. The location is perfect, the staff was super friendly and super helpful. I loved the charming rooms and home like quality of the rooms. Lots of great cafes right outside the door. I will stay here again when I visit Montreal!

Lovely inn. The rooms were spacious and the bath well appointed. The location is terrific and an easy walk to many sites and restaurants in Old Montreal. As another noted, there is no elevator, so be prepared for the stairs.

This was a lovely inn with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The location was fantastic. It does not, however, have an elevator, so you should keep that in mind, and the lobby is quite small. That is only a problem when several travelers are checking in at one time. The coded entry offers excellent security.

We had a great time first week of september. The hotel was beautiful and is downtown old Montreal. We even had luck that there was a music en burger festival that weekend. Hotel is old, but very style ful and clean. No breakfast, but the neighbours have a good bistro with excellent kitchen, or walk to Tim Hortons, a 5...

Wonderful hotel. Centrally located in old town. Walking distance to the cruise terminals. Our room was spacious and clean. A $40.00 CAD cab ride from the airport. Restaurants, shops and sightseeing a few blocks away.

The location in Old Montreal was perfect, right across from the Port. Ruth at the front desk was extremely helpful and directed us to a great place for lunch, Olive & Gourmand and a very good Vietnamese restaurant for dinner, Pho New York. The Big problem for us was that were on the a3 floor and had to drag our...

We stayed four nights in this lovely, tiny hotel. Only 12 rooms and no elevator in a restored, ancient building. Close to everything in the Old Port, a few blocks from the Notre Dame Basilica. Clean, friendly, and very large, comfortable rooms.

The location is great! Very walkable and our first floor queen suite has beautiful river views. But since it is an old building, sounds proof is poor, so quite noisy. The bed and bathroom are clean, but the dog beds are so dirty that we even didn't want to touch them. Suggest the owner to upgrade. Toast oven and kitchenware...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
