I booked this room in Old Montreal, it's on the street along the old port. Just around the corner from St-Paul street and 9 min from metro station (Place d'Armes). Easy to get around. Very cute hotel. Small and quaint. Great welcome! Rooms are spacious and nice, has character to it. I would definitely come back. Only 10 minutes walk... More

We showed up at the Auberge 2 hours later than planned due to awful road conditions on the 401. Thankfully, our envelope was taped to the wall with the code to unlock the door (don't rely on the letters on the actual dial pad... just look for the note). Our room was on the 3rd floor - many stairs! But... More

We would definitely recommend this hotel for families, or anyone. The room was spacious and comfortable for our family of five, with many charming touches. The location could not be beat with the close proximity to many restaurants and cafes, shops, museums and historic places, all in walking distance. The lobby desk is not staffed 24 hours, but the staff... More

This was the second time we have stayed here and the pictures advertising the suites are genuine. Our room had 4 large windows overlooking the port. The white tiled bathroom is so spacious and light you can stay in there for hours. There main bed has the brick wall behind, there were two pull out coaches and a cute small... More

My boyfriend and I love the style of this place. Each room has its own characteristics. The best part of the bedroom is the view of Montreal's St Lawrence River. We did stay in the bedroom with a view of brick wall of another building, but the room was... Very comfortable, very clean, so homey! The price is reasonable for... More

My family of four recently stayed here two nights. Overall, it was a lovely place - friendly owners, GREAT location (walking distance to downtown Montreal and many restaurants and sites), and a really nicely decorated, spacious and clean room. My favorite thing about the inn was the personal touch of the owners. In the lobby, there is a board that... More

Staff was very nice and helpful. Until the very end. After a nice stay, a small glass soap dispenser broke in the bathroom. It was such a little thing. But they charged me another 20 dollars. For something so silly, I thought it was incredibly tacky. Left a very bad taste in my mouth. And I'd never go back.

Beautiful rooms! Great location! Extremely friendly staff! Can't wait to come again!! Made you feel at home. It is right in the center of everything. I had a bad cough and the man who runs the place offered to go to a pharmacy for me.

Decided to spend a night in Montreal on our return trip from Cape Breton. Fortunately we were able to get a room at the Auberge. Was led to believe I was getting the best available rate when i booked directly with the Auberge but later discovered a better rate at booking.com. GOOD NEWS! Management had no issues honouring the lower... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
