The Gold Floor staff were attentive and made my stay a pleasure. Location is very convenient especially for access to train station and 747 bus from airport. Rooms were comfortable though some furniture not required at all

This was a delightful place to stay for a conference. My room was well appointed, clean, everything was in top-notch condition. The bed was very comfortable. The desk staff were very helpful when a colleague needed to fix his reservation. The concierge snagged a last-minute reservation for us at Au Pied de Cochon. When we tried to find her later... More

From the moment I've arrived, I had one of the best, relaxing experience. The check in, front desk had given me the most pleasing greeting. Once I checked in my room, I was taken away but the warmth, cozy and not to mention beautiful view of downtown Montreal, Rene Levesque. We were located in the middle of the hotel so... More

The Queen Elizabeth hotel is a gem. The service is excellent, the rooms are modern and the food is wonderful! If you're staying in Montreal stay in the Queenie. I visit there a few times a year instead of taking a cruise --- it's that good.

The hotel is past its prime. Dated decor and in need of a significant modernization. Avoid. Bathrooms are tiny and showers 3rd world standard. Not up to the Fairmont standards. Staff were not very friendly or helpful (a bit too French).

Overall staff and location was good, no issues with the service or check-in. Room was somewhat dated with peeling wallpaper and a smaller size, but acceptable given the age of the building. Ammenities good and great bed. Downside was the fact they charged my a (albeit small) fee for storing my bags for 2 hours after checkout, as flight was... More

My husband and I stayed two nights at The Queen Elizabeth. It was not a good experience. We spoke to the front desk... More

Don't let looks deceive you. The outside looks like an office building but the interior is beautifully appointed and classy. Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
