We stayed here for 1 night, in a suite room. The room we had had a very cold feel, the bed was really hard so much so I hardly slept at all! The overall appearance was like many Hostels, run down, patch up and make do, but City Centre for £70-75 not bad (i.e. That's Why 3 stars and not...

So I knew this was a budget hotel when booking, however, we were a little scared coming up the stairs into this place. When we arrived the front desk person was arguing with a bunch of guests because their reservation was lost. He was extremely rude to them and we waited a half hour to get checked in. He was...

Hello Thank you for the time you took to write this review. I apologize for the bad experience you had at the hotel. Normally our bathrooms are cleaned 3 to 4 times per day. I will personally see with the maids why the bathrooms was so dirty. If you thinking to come back some day to montreal, it's possible you...

Great place to stay at when you're planning to visit Montreal for attractions in downtown Montreal. The place was sanitary but it's a bit small. They provided breakfast but it would be an extra $8 per a person. They have different suits for different prices. I stayed in a room with a queen sized bed, with a washroom for $125...

I've stayed here the last two visits to Montreal. Very affordable room rates and located on Rue Ste. Catherine's near UQAM. It's geared toward a younger crowd but is accommodating to all types. Great location for a very reasonable price. Don't be put off by the fact it's located next to a sex shoppe. On my second visit, I went...

This was my first trip out of the country and I had no clue what to expect. Thank goodness that I chose this hotel. It was clean. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating. And the location was perfect. All within one block was the bank, many eateries, the bus stop and the subway station. I'd recommend the Hotel...

If you have to have a name brand hotel with all the amenities and comforts this is NOT for you. But if you want to be mere centimeters from the exciting fast-paced vibrant heart of a very festive city you can't go wrong staying here. When I'm someplace like Montreal I need a clean place to sleep and take a...

Stayed at Hotel Abri du Voyageur 7-12 July 2016. Clean, quiet(*) and comfortable. Quiet has an asterik because the annual International Jazz Festival was held on nearby streets, but when I took my hearing aids out before going to bed, the room was pleasantly quiet. (The festival was only a few days; it is not a year-round event.) My room...

My mother and I recently stayed at this hotel for one night. We loved the authentic feel of the hotel however the bed was horribly uncomfortable, and the room was very small. We tossed and turned all night. Also, the " immaculate washrooms" were out of soap our whole stay and had urine on the seats. The location was superb...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.

Dating back to 1876, Abri du Voyageur Hotel has been renovated in keeping with its historical character. High ceilings, bare brick walls, maple-wood floors, continental doors are reminiscent of the past and give our hotel a unique personality. Abri du Voyageur Hotel is not an impersonal, run-of-the-mill cookie factory type hotel but is part and parcel of the history and evolution of the Faubourg St.Laurent and of Montreal.Abri du Voyageur Hotel is adjacent to the Quartier des Spectacles Hotel. Each hotel is in a separate building linked by a common lobby and reception. A single entry serves both hotels in a 4 storey centennial building. All our rooms and studios are equipped with an air-conditioner and cable television. We also offer free wireless internet for all our guests.A friendly professional staff and a warm ambiance offers you a welcomed refuge in the midst of the hustle and bustle of downtown Montreal. Relax in our ‘hotel de charme’ and visit by foot Montreals’ boutiques, cinemas, restaurants, museums, art galleries, sport events, shows, bars and discothèques. Metro St.Laurent ( subway station) is less than a block from the hotel and will bring you in 10 to 15 minutes to those few sites not in walking distance ( ex. Doré Beach on the St.Lawrence River, Mount Royal, the Botanical Gardens, the Biodôme, the Casino of Montreal). What a dream location! ... more   less
