I keep coming back to this oasis in the middle of the city. Great location (across from the train station) and within easy walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the port of Montreal. Highly recommend
What a great time. This hotel is right in the middle of everything. Old Montreal, the Bell centre, Ste.Catherine… all in walkable distance. The rooftop bar and pool is the main reason why I always stop there.
Stayed three nights for Chris Stapleton concert and some rest and relaxation. We thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop pool area. Weather cooperated and it felt like we had gone south. Music was perfect for setting and a poolside bar was open for the Friday. The previous two days we grabbed drinks from the bar part of the restaurant. We also had our own thermos mugs and purchased alcohol from across the street, at a store inside the train station. There's also a pharmacy in the station. We took advantage of the pool at different times of day and the night swim was perfect. Note: You can request robes for your room and they were nice to have at night for heading to - and hanging out at - the pool. It's an easy walk to Bell Centre, less than 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. There's a nice bagel spot and a Starbucks at the atrium right next door. We usually went there to take care of breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located at the Bonaventure metro stop on the orange line so we bought a three-day subway pass on the first day and used it frequently. It made going to the old port super fast. We'd often walk back, about a 20-minute stroll. We had a basic room with two double beds. We were very pleased with it. It appeared to be recently refurbished. Lobby boasts a modern/chill vibe. Lots of places to sit. When you arrive at the hotel, just walk straight in to the elevators. There's just a floor 1 and a floor 10 for options, 10 being the hotel lobby.…
Excellent location! Close to Metro & Train station, St. Catherine St. and other historical sites in a quint are of dt. Our room has the view of a water pond & garden where we can see ducks swimming & playing, what an oasis in the middle of downtown in a large city! I would stay at this hotel again!
To end off our summer of 2022 our family (wife, daughter age 11) decided to stay in Montreal to see some of the museums (biodome, jardin botanical) and old town. We wanted to stay in walking distance of old-town without paying a fortune (>400). My wife is a serious value seeker and was angling for a somewhat cheaper apartment-style hotel in Chinatown but I convinced her to try the hotel Bonaventure largely on the basis of aesthetics and the terrace pool. It was definitely the right choice. The hotel checked off most (if not all) the key boxes we were looking for. Friendly and helpful concierge, easy check-in, convenient parking but as an added bonus, the hotel is literally beside the main train station and metro making it easy to get from one part of town to another. We used the metro to get to biodome and Olympic park easily in 20-30 min. The hotel lobby, dinning and bar are attractive and the rooftop terrace is really nice including a (semi) naturalized landscape with pathways. The rooms were modern and clean and bathrooms were one of more updated ones I've seen in a hotel. But the key attraction of the hotel as seen on its website is the heated, l outdoor pool, hot-tub and sauna. I would have to guess the pool is kept at least at 84-86C with a waterwall and is quite large, though the shallow area can get quite busy and it is a very deep pool beyond the first 10 m or so from the main ladder. It is supervised (sort of, there is an attendent), but parents must definitely keep an eye on kids in the pool. The cleaning, dinning and concierge staff were all professional and very friendly. I don't have any egregious complaints except perhaps the breakfast menu is somewhat expensive for the buffet. I think it is slightly discounted if ordered as part of an accommodation and hospitality package. I would also probably lower the temperature somewhat in the main pool but hopefully, the chlorine levels are well maintained. I would definitely stay there again and recommended to travels visiting Montreal. Good location, easy access to transit, nearby attractions, clean and modern, friendly staff = 9/10.…
We have stayed here many times over the years. This last time the outdoor pool music was way too loud and water like a bath. Not pleasant! The staff are always helpful and quick to offer assistance. Breakfast in the Executive Lounge was excellent and the host there outstanding. Cleanliness of room bathroom floor left a bit to be desired. Some things make this hotel distinctive…rooftop gardens and pool, and some décor which is not the standard (hard surfaces snd uninviting furniture). But it feels to be losing its edge as a it pivots toward the minimalist aesthetic, geared more to clean lines snd modern pictures than customer comfort. Too bad.
Generally a great stay all around. Comfortable bed and room, great staff. The rooftop pool and gardens contribute to a resort experience. The water was a little warm for the summer but a minor detail and would be terrific on a cool day.
To be sure, there are some pluses here. Lovely lobby, and the room was quiet and pretty comfortable. What was disappointing is the reception at the front desk, the neighborhood, and the vibe at the pool. The first person at the desk was great - drew me a map to help me find my way and suggested several wonderful dining options. When we came back to check in and interacted with someone else it was a different story. Our room was not ready even though it was 4 pm and check in is at 4. He asked us to wait - but no apology or gesture to make us comfortable. We eventually got a room after a 20 min wait. When we checked out, there wasn’t even a “thank you for staying.” No concierge. The neighborhood is uninteresting concrete and it is a 20 min walk down to the port. Next time we’ll look for something with a more convenient location. The pool was overflowing with people - kind of a Las Vegas vibe. We skipped it. The restaurant was only open for breakfast - not for lunch and we couldn’t find anywhere close by to have lunch. Not worth the price.…
The hotel is on a perfect location in the center of the city. Everyone was really nice and helpful. The big heated pool with a lot of plants is wonderful and guests get towels there. Everything was clean and if we come to Montreal again, we will stay at this hotel again.
Thanks, François, for a perfect check-in. Happy to recommend this hotel. Great for business folks and the pool makes it perfect for people with kids. Convenient location. Loved how we could catch both the local subway train and train to Quebec City across the street.
