We had a lovely couple of days in Montreal. Can not say enough about the welcoming atmosphere of the staff at the Hotel Epik. Sweet, charming and always helpful. From helping out upon entering through the door, offering and bringing up coffee and croissants to us and our guest to the room (no charge) and sorting out a broken window...

What a beautiful boutique hotel. Decorated in a stylish and cozy atmosphere with all the charms of historic Old Montreal. The restaurant is very quaint and the food is awesome. We were a group of people and everyone ordered different dishes, which we all loved. I can list them all but I recommend trying it. You won't be disappointed. Just...

My boyfriend and I drove to Montreal for a quick one-night trip and we were amazed by the warmth and character of the hotel staff. The room was incredibly spacious for a B&B, we enjoyed fresh croissants in the morning, the accommodations were very clean, and the fact that the stone walls of the hotel are 200 years old only...

This hotel is located in a very cosmopolitan area with fine shopping and restaurants all within walking distance. The cathedral, the river, and many museums and sites are also in walking distance. The concierge team were service oriented, warm and friendly. They provide a mini buffet breakfast, espresso, coffee and tea and there is a restaurant on site but was...

The charming host who welcomed us (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) set the tone for our visit. We felt so welcomed. We had a business meeting in the private dining room that afternoon and our server, David, kept water glasses filled, fresh coffee poured, fruit and snacks at the ready. Breakfast the next day was lovely. Rooms were...

From the second we pulled up and had to get our bags out of the taxi and get them over a big snow bank to get into the hotel, a smiling face was popped out the door then out came Oscar (receptionist) to help us with these. He was so warm, funny and welcoming, he made us feel so welcomed...

We stayed at a very quaint hotel in old Montreal. It's not a large hotel, but the hotel is very clean. Service was great. The only has two floors so there is no elevator. It is not wheelchair accessible. No pets. Our room had breakfast included. Breakfast was good,

We do our best to alleviate the stairs by whisking up your bags but we do want people to know that there is no elevator. Also, in keeping with the B&B feel, all our rates include breakfast.

We booked two rooms for our family of five and found this boutique hotel friendly and large lovely rooms ( we had just stayed in New York City prior to this stay so we were use to very small rooms). The bathroom was very modern also. The main thing was the incredibly friendly staff who offered suggestions both for food...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
