My wife and I did a staycation at the Germain last week. We had a great time. The hotel was renovated and looks very good. I even thought it was nicer than the Four Seasons Montreal (another staycation a few months ago). The location is perfect, very close to the McGill campus which makes for a romantic walk after dinner. We had dinner in our room and the food was excellent and warm. The wine list is interesting. The continental breakfast the next morning was also very good. Keep in mind that the rooms are on the small side and I guess the water pressure in the shower could have been better. But overall, our one romantic night at the Germain was a great success and I would recommend it to anyone. We'll be back.

An absolutely excellent stay at the hotel Germain. Service was outstanding and the bar was top shelf with 2 dollar oyster night and half price wine. Room was small but cozy and they did a good job making us feel safe

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. Pluses: very comfy bed (form, which we like), friendly staff, good breakfast (more choice than we were expecting for a continental breakfast), good wifi, easy walk to train station and downtown stores, trendy retro feel. Negatives: none! Would definitely stay here again. The shower has a glass wall, so be warned if you’re modest.

I had always wanted to stay at Le Germain Montreal. Was going to stay there last summer but they were closed during that time. So I booked a long weekend this February. From the moment I arrived I felt I was somewhere special. The doorman was very friendly and my bag was brought to my room. Check in was efficient and friendly. The room itself is beautiful. I was in room 1106. It is a bit of a surprise to have the shower in the room right there, but I learned to quite like it. It made for a relaxing shower atmosphere. The Nespresso machine is an excellent touch and the water fountains with filtered water and pitchers on every floor is an excellent idea. The Expo 67 themed WC was really cute and really was a special touch. The Ruby Brown soaps were fine, but I actually miss the Molton Brown soaps that can still be found in Ottawa. They were just an extra touch of luxury, My only complaint is that there isn't a door mat or a place to put dirty wintery shoes. It would be nice to have a mat in the corner as it could get quite messy. The bed was quite lovely! Breakfast - wow. The choices were delicious and the service was great. The view is amazing and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I was expecting more seating options in the lobby, but most of the space belongs to the bar. Still, it is a lovely lobby. I was very sad to have to leave. So sad that I have booked a trip back to Le Germain at the end of July.
