Trendy hotel in a great location, close to St. Catherine's and McGill. Check in was fast and easy, and I got a room on the 20th floor near the elevator, but there was no noise or bother. Room was spotless and very modern. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Small Nespresso machine, and milk capsules in the mini fridge. Room service was very fast. Meeting rooms were good and the business breakfasts and lunch were ok. WiFi was fast. Highlight was the water fountain near my room that dispensed cold filtered water - next time will take my Yeti mug! Cons: No movies to order, and a very limited room service menu. Also they did not refill the milk or water bottles in the mini fridge. They also took the extra room key I had accidentally left in the slot for lights by the door which was odd. Also the window to the shower that you can see through from the bed is very odd, though fine because I was alone. There was no window covering. Also there are a million light switches which was a bit strange. But ok.

We had a room for just one night. We did not make any special requests so I am assuming we were in a “standard” king room. Love the way it is furnished and decorated as well as the overall vibe of the room. It was remarkably clean and the room itself, very comfortable. For me, this is where it all stops for four, very specific, reasons. Perhaps it’s just me! First, and probably foremost, the bed was very soft, sinking in kind of soft. While I’m sure many prefer this, I prefer a firm mattress. Number 2 on the list, while the TV had 179 channels listed, I am going to guess 100 of them had “no source” so, no channel. This one isn’t that important because I wasn’t there to watch TV but it would have been nice to have ALL the channels available. When questioning the front desk, the response was, try channel 179, it has a basketball game many times and there’s a couple other sports channels too but he didn’t know the channel numbers… and I never watch sports! Oh well. Number 3, The bathroom was great, everything you needed, EXCEPT, a bar of soap. Yes, a tiny little, unwrapped, bar of hand soap was at the sink but if you want to use “real soap” in the shower and not the provided body wash, bring your own. Finally, Number 4, more of a want than a need – while there is a coffee pot in the room, I’ve never trusted them AND there’s no cream, half and half, or milk available, as there would be in a restaurant or café or even simply in the lobby of many hotels for that morning pick me up. There was a café adjacent to the hotel and a Starbucks a 3-minute walk away but they don’t open until 9:30 on Sundays so if you get up to early – you’re pretty much on your own. A pot of coffee in the lobby in the mornings would surely be a nice touch! On the bright side, parking is available, I think valet only, for an additional $40 and there was a nice view from the front of the hotel looking at the city. I have stayed at other St. Germain properties in the past and this one just doesn’t seem to stack up to the others. And yes, if you want a bag to throw your dirty clothes in before you go, you can buy one for $12 at the front desk, or maybe just used one of the plastic trash bags in the trash can in the room. Next time in Montreal, I believe I'll have to try someplace else.

Dear LarryLFL, thank you for taking the time to give us your impression about your stay with us. I am sorry if your stay was not all to your satisfaction with the different element mentionned above. Please note that we will definetely follow up with the team regarding the TV channels that were not working properly, I am sorry about that. We also have a list available to help you find what you need for another time. Also, for the soap bar, it is definetely possible that ask us for extra one, if you prefer using this in the shower compare to the shower gel that is there already. Finally, we do offer milk and cream with the complimentary coffee pods in the room, it is located in the minibar, so the little fridge under the coffee machine. I am sorry, if this was not indicated clear enough. Thank you for using our different hotels while traveling in Canada. We still hope we will have the chance to see you again in Montreal or in our other properties. Best regards,

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights during F1. Our stay was wonderful - clean rooms, comfortable beds, fantastic decor. One thing that set this hotel a part was the service. We had a reservation for dinner set up for 8 people F1 weekend but was cancelled on us last minute. In a panic, we asked the concierge for help finding us a restaurant last minute and they booked us at one of the most memorable dinners of the weekend. Incredible service. Will return.

The rooms are beautiful, the front desk hospitality leaves a LOT to be desired. I really wanted to love this hotel. I booked it for an anniversary getaway and selected it above other hotels based on the glowing reviews. However, the tone for our stay was soured at check-in. We arrived at 2:45 pm which I understand is before check in time at 3. I did not expect the room to be ready early but was told at check in it could be up to an hour to wait. I was honestly very off put not just because the room was not ready by the advertised time, but because of the lack of service of the staff. There was no offer to apologize (I'm not asking for a grand gesture) but we couldn't even be offered waters. We were simply told to wait. If I was staying at the Best Western I would be understanding. However, I don't find that acceptable at a 4 star hotel at which we spent $1200/2 nights to stay at. My partner and I waited in the lobby seating area for nearly 1 hour, at which point I went to the front desk to inquire about the room status. I was told it was not ready yet, and there was no approximate time. I politely expressed that I was disappointed the room is not ready on time, and I mentioned I couldn't even be offered a beverage for the wait. The front desk staff went off to talk to someone and their solution was to keep waiting.. and they would 'bump up" my room in cleaning order. I found it pretty appalling that for $1200 and explicitly asking for a drink the staff concluded that was not possible. I went back to my seat to wait. The only reason I didn't ask to immediately speak to management is because this was an anniversary trip and I did not want to spoil it. 20 minutes later we were handed the keys. Honestly the rooms look as pictured, I didn't have an issue with them. However, the front desk service at the hotel is not what I expected from a 4 star hotel. I had previously looked into booking the Toronto location for my staycation next month but I am so off put by the sub par service I would absolutely not book with this hotel again.

Excellent stay. The staff is warm, genuine and caring. I was very impressed that they always addressed me by my name, in all areas of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, and the cleanliness of the hotel is remarkable. Very very high notes! Of course the location is terrific, dead center in Montréal. Marie-Eve at the front desk was very warm and professional, and the bellmen Carlo, Noah and Felix were all terrific, courteous and energetic. Thank you for an outstanding stay, I will be back.

We recently stayed in this hotel for a visit to New England and Montréal. It was our first time staying in the Le Germain chain. The hotel is located very close to McGill University and downtown. We absolutely loved it. The hotel decor, newly refurbished in a retro 60s style, is charming and aesthetically pleasing. The food in the hotel is absolutely delectable. The kitchen serves tapas style dishes, and everything we ordered through room service, in the restaurant for breakfast, and at the bar was delicious. The staff is very helpful and friendly, but not over solicitous.

Just returned from 3 nights at Le Germain, where we had a prestige queen room with two beds (we are a couple with a teenager). We have stayed at other locations of Le Germain before, and like the brand a lot. The hotel common spaces are beautiful, as are the rooms. The location is terrific; we were able to pop back to the hotel a few times each day (after a little shopping excursion, for example, or a visit to Beaux Arts). We used the inexpensive indoor parking lot across the street and were happy with it. We had a water temperature problem in our room, and this is where the hotel staff - and general hotel policies - really distinguished themselves. Though the problem could not be solved immediately (things happen, even in well-run hotels) the staff dealt professionally with the issue and we came to a very satisfactory solution. That alone ensures that we'll go back to Le Germain Montreal and will recommend the place to friends.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in the prestige king room. The room was so incredibly comfortable, well laid out, and is designed with so many special touches, like dimmer lights for the room beside the bed and individual reading lights. The bedding was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Only downfall was the view was of offices, so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. We asked if any other rooms with a better view, but was informed that this style was only on this side of the building on the 4th or 5th floors. They offered to show us a room on the 12th floor and we could switch if wanted, but we decided we like our rooms layout and could handle the curtains closed. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. With any request we had, they acted immediately. They even welcome you everytime you come into the hotel with a smile! The gym has the most amazing view, and even has peloton bikes, which I never saw mentioned in any comment, but as someone with a peloton was so happy to have away from home! The water fountains in the halls is an unexpected touch as well! Overall I loved my experience at Le Germain Montreal, and will definitely book again when back visiting Montreal!

This is a really great hotel. Stylish and clean, with a real boutique hotel feel. In the middle of a busy downtown area, inside the hotel was relaxed and calming. The room was spacious, modern and extremely comfortable. The bathroom, including the Ruby Brown products, were amazing. All the staff we interacted with were really great; helpful and friendly. The gym is great too! Location is really central, short walk from 2 Metro stops (Peel and McGill) and a handful of Bixi (rental) bike docks. We’d stay here again, no question.
