The Auberge is beautiful and located in Le Plateau on the edge of a park. Le Plateau is a really fun neighborhood with lots of character and easily accessible to all parts of Montreal. The room was charming and clean. There is a terrace that overlooks the park. The breakfasts were just right - fruit, smoked salmon, muffins, breads. Everyone... More

Stayed here on a recent trip to Montreal and am so glad we did! Get a room with a view of the park if you can. That's what we had. It is a really cute B&B type place. The service was wonderful and the guy at the desk gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations and drew on a map to show... More

My mother and I spent four days at this beautiful hotel and wouldn't change a thing! Tarik was wonderful and saved the day when the online booking company messed up our reservation. Jonathan was also full of great dinner recommendations and fun to talk to. The rooms are spotless, the community kitchen was stocked well and all of the staff... More

Lovely Inn across from park with Bixi bike rentals- short ride into DT Montreal. Very friendly and helpful staff, small but very clean, comfortable and attractive room. Also bike rental company and many restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

This was a great property for our four day stay in Montreal. Love the park right across the street, restaurants within walking distance as well as public transportation. The staff were all wonderful and so helpful with directions, ticket discounts and other info. We had a very quiet room in the back of the property on the main level. Would... More

Back in 2002 we stayed in this hotel after a 10 day train trip across Canada. We were only here for two nights before we left for home. We decided to take a mini-vacation to Montreal and stay here again. Our room was very nicely furnished, we had a small suite with a Jacuzzi tub in the room and a... More

Located in the great neighborhood of Plateau Mont Royal this charming, welcoming inn is a terrific oasis in a beautiful and busy city. The room was spacious and comfortable and the colorful, art-filled decor made it feel more like a home than a hotel. The European-style buffet breakfast (i.e. croissants, quiche, eggs, cheese, pates & meats) is wonderful and the... More

Came to visit a family friend, along with my wife and teenage sons. We got two rooms. The location is great, in a vibrant neighborhood directly across from the Park de La Fontaine. Lots of bicycles around. I suspect the place has gotten busier with Americans thanks to the recent NY Time review, but prices were quite reasonable. Both rooms... More

Auberge de la Fontaine is a beautiful, unique find in the bustling city of Montreal, within walking distance of many shops and restaurants and right across from a lovely park. The staff is amicable and always present to help you navigate, and they are all fluent in French and English. The rooms are beautifully decorated. It should be noted that... More

I would normally give this property a higher rating but my expectations were high because of the pictures on their web site and FB page. Our superior room was nothing like those pictured. I expressed my disappointment and was shown a lower grade room to prove that what I had was better. If I had been given that room I... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
