We had two rooms, one a suite. Yes they are not large, and furnishings may be a little dated, but we found them--including the beds--comfortable Breakfast and service both stand out. Breakfast includes fresh fruit and scrambled eggs. Note that many of the rooms require you to walk outdoors a few steps (in the back of the property = secure,... More

We stayed at this hotel last minute through hotwire because of the ratings. I'm really not sure why the ratings are so high as the room we received was small and the furniture tired. When taking a shower I had the unpleasant experience of randomly getting sprayed with cold water. Starting at 830 AM we had the pleasure of hearing... More

Dear Guest Thank you for trusting us for your stay and for your comment. We are always trying to improve and take seriously each comment. You had a Budget room which are small rooms (room dimension on hotel web site). Most of our guest are ok with that as the ratings shows as you said it. I will have maintenance... More

The location here is excellent. Old montreal, the dowtown and mont royal can all be accessed by foot easily from this location. We were here a couple days and never used our car or subway (we do like to walk a lot, but the subway is very close if that's preferred). There are also a couple other interesting neighbourhoods right... More

This hotel has more expensive rooms in the victorian era main building. We deliberately chose the lowest priced rooms which are smaller in a new wing with outside entry but in a private semi-garden. We wanted one night accomodations close to the 747 bus to the airport which was 2-3 blocks away. The Rue St. Denis where the hotel was... More

Dear Guest Thank you for your time to write this review and also for trusting us for your stay in our beautiful city. You had a room type that we call Budget rooms (or Economic on certain web sites). They are, like you said, the smaller and cheapest option. If you are here for a long stay and are planning to... More

Small hotel with a personal touch. Comfortable although, as the room faced onto a terrace which we had to cross, I wondered about warmth in winter (I was fine in September). Basic but acceptable breakfast. Easy walk to good restaurants, cafes and museums.

We recently stayed at this hotel on our first visit to Montreal. We arrived by train and walked to the hotel from the central train station - doable if you are in pretty good shape. We weren't too sure about the hotel as we approached by foot - the area is more "hip" than we are used to! But the... More

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to write this comment. We are glad you liked your stay with us. Train station is connecting with Bonaventure metro station which is 4 station to Berri-UQAM metro station. From there, you have a short 5 minute walk to the hotel. A taxi will cost around $12 as an alternative. You can... More

The hotel is delightful. It is in the Latin Quarter surrounded by lots of restaurants, the subway and the old city. The rooms are clean, home-y and comfortable. The whirlpool tub was the size promised and quite large accommodating a 6'2" person of substantial size. The bathroom floor is a little slippery in that room (#24, I believe), so more... More

At first when we arrived we were very put off by the location, but by the next day we realized it was okay. Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
